The photographer killed while tracking Justin Bieber’s Ferrari allegedly claimed that the pop star had been smoking marijuana. Approximately an hour before photographer Chris Guerra was killed, he supposedly made a phone call in which he stated he was chasing a big story and alleged that Bieber was smoking pot while driving his Ferrari.
A TMZ source allegedly connected to the agency Guerra completed freelance work for stated that the photographer called him shortly before he was killed to relay the Justin Bieber gossip.
The source had this to say to TMZ about the Bieber smoking weed allegations:
“Man, you won’t believe my luck. It’s pretty dead in L.A. Everybody thinks Justin and Selena are in Mexico, but they’re not.”
Chris Guerra supposedly worked exclusively on the “Bieber detail.” The celebrity photographer also allegedly noted during the phone call to his friend that he had recently spotted both Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s car in Beverly Hills at the Four Seasons. Guerra supposedly stated during the phone conversation that he had seen Bieber smoking a pipe that possibly contained pot while driving his Ferrari.
While still on the phone about 20 minutes later, Guerra allegedly ended the conversation abruptly to follow the Bieber’s Ferrari as it pulled out of a hotel parking lot. The celebrity photographer presumably did not realize that the pop star was not inside the vehicle at the time.
A 19-year-old rapper known as Lil Twist was driving Justin’s Ferrari at the time over the traffic stop. Lil Twist was allegedly hanging out with the pop star at the Beverly Hills hotel.
A Justin Bieber representative had this to say about the Ferrari traffic stop and the death of photographer Chris Guerra:
“It’s really sad that people are trying to push a story without the facts so soon after this tragic accident. Justin was not present or involved in this incident and the focus should remain on honoring the memory of the victim.”
Bieber’s representative did not offer a direct response to claims that the singer was smoking marijuana at the Four Seasons. Chris Guerra, 20, moved to Los Angeles last March to become a photographer, according to Zap 2 It .
Justin Bieber had this to say about the death of photographer Chris Guerra in a statement released to the media:
While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim.
“Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
