Nate Robinson is leaving Chicago after signing a two-year, $4 million contract with the Denver Nuggets.
The 5-foot-9 guard was an important part of the Bulls offense last year in the absence of Derrick Rose, averaging 13.1 points and 4.4 assists per game in a backup role. During the playoffs he turned it up a notch, averaging 16.3 points per game. He also played in a career-high 82 games last season.
Nate Robinson looks to be again a backup in Denver, where he will see minutes behind point guard Ty Lawson.
The roster move will bolster the roster for the Nuggets , who finished with 57 wins last year but failed to get out of the first round of the playoffs for the fourth straight year. The team has gone through an overhaul, with new general manager Tim Connelly and coach Brian Shaw coming on board.
Nate Robinson has bounced around quite a bit in his career, with six stops over his eight-year NBA career — the Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks.
In Denver , Robinson will be reunited with former Knicks teammates Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari.
Robinson has a reputation as a speedy and high-flying guard, winning the NBA Dunk Contest three times during his career.
Upon leaving Chicago, Robinson had nothing but good things to say about the Chicago Bulls and its fans.
Chicago will always have a place in my heart I’m a miss all my teammates it was a treat playing along side of all of them all stand up guys
