There were rumors that Bill Goldberg was considering a return to the WWE before SummerSlam . Goldberg was even in town during SummerSlam to promote the upcoming WWE 2K17 video game. It never happened, but now WWE rumors are exploding concerning Goldberg coming back at the WWE Survivor Series special event.
Bill Goldberg addressed the WWE Survivor Series rumors when he appeared on the ESPN series Off the Top Rope on Wednesday night. According to Goldberg, he is seriously considering a return to the WWE and just needs to make sure everything is right before making that decision.

“I’m going to do a lot of soul searching and I’m going to talk to my family to figure out what Goldberg wants to do. At the end of the day, I’m greatly appreciative of all the fans that I was able to acquire over the years. I don’t want to bastardize anything I did, let’s just put it bluntly. So it’s a big decision.”
At the end of the day, Bill Goldberg is not saying that he will be at WWE Survivor Series , but he also isn’t saying that he won’t. Goldberg is basically saying he is considering a return to the WWE. However, what makes this interview so interesting is that WWE Survivor Series rumors have exploded over the last week.

According to top respected professional wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, a Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match for WWE Survivor Series is “all but confirmed” for Survivor Series. According to Meltzer, there have been rumors that Goldberg was in talks and that sources inside the WWE have told him that the Survivor Series match was either finalized or in heavy negotiations still.
The fact that Bill Goldberg is the cover man for WWE 2K17 also speaks to the level of the interest the WWE has in the former WCW and WWE champion. When they put Sting on the cover, they brought him back. When they put Ultimate Warrior on the cover, they at least brought him in for the WWE Hall of Fame. Could the Survivor Series rumors be true based on that?

In the ESPN interview, Bill Goldberg talked about how difficult it would be to return to the ring at this point in his life. He also said that he has a 10-year-old son who would love to see his dad wrestle at least one time in his life. WWE Survivor Series is a chance for that to happen.
“I’m an old man here. I’m 49 years old. A guy like Ric Flair at 49 could go out and do his character. A guy 49 going out and doing Goldberg again — I don’t know what the odds are.”

The WWE Survivor Series takes place on Nov. 20 and will be the next special WWE event that features both WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live! brands. The idea of a Bill Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar match at Survivor Series is interesting and might be a way to sell the event to people looking for something out of the box.
The last time that Goldberg and Brock Lesnar were in the ring together was a WrestleMania event where both men were booed. The reason is that both men were on their way out of the WWE, Lesnar to try out for the NFL and Goldberg to retire.
It will be interesting to see what would happen if they fought again. For anyone who still doubts these Survivor Series rumors, even WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross chimed in on it. According to Ross, he said he even has a source that says Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will fight at the WWE Survivor Series event. That should pretty much put a stamp on the entire deal.
Another source says that @Goldberg vs @BrockLesnar is a done deal and that it will likely go down at #SurvivorSeries . If true, bravo @wwe
