‘Grand Theft Auto V’ Listed For PC By European Retailers

The PC version of Rockstar’s upcoming open world epic Grand Theft Auto V is rumored to have appeared on a handful of European websites.

Despite reports that the next installment in the groundbreaking franchise would be available only for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, a PC version of the title has shown up on Amazon. Complex is currently reporting that sites in the Germany, France, and the UK currently have the game listed as being available for computers.

A quick trip to the Amazon’s French website shows that Grand Theft Auto V will be compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. However, the listing says nothing about the game being compatible with Windows 8.

The Amazon UK website doesn’t have the PC version of the game available for pre-order as of this writing. Instead, users can sign up to be alerted when the game becomes available. This could mean these listings are nothing more than placeholders should GTA V be announced for PC at some point down the road.

When Rockstar failed to announce Grand Theft Auto V for the PC, a number of disgruntled gamers started a petition to show the company there is a demand for the port. The Inquisitr reported that petition mastermind Mike Julliard was disappointed by the news.

He explained:

“GTA games have been a large part of so many peoples lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform.”

Although the game has been confirmed for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, anxious gamers still aren’t sure when the title will land on retail shelves across the nation. The game’s tentative release date is currently penciled in for this spring.

Rockstar claimed earlier this month that it would drop the official box art for GTA V before the end of January.
