‘Angry’ Elizabeth Warren Is ‘Shrill’ And ‘Almost Unhinged,’ Says ‘Morning Mika’ Brzezinski [Video]

Elizabeth Warren fan or ex-fan Mika Brzezinski, the co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe , scolded the Democratic lawmaker for an anti-Donald Trump speech on the floor of the Senate Monday morning that, according to her, demonstrated an unwillingness to extend an olive branch to the new presidential administration.

Brzezinski also seemingly accused Warren of laying the groundwork for the same kind of obstructionism of the president-elect’s agenda that Republicans were accused of attempting when Barack Obama took office in 2009.

Both Mika and TV co-host Joe Scarborough have had an on again, off again feud with their frenemy Donald Trump, during which they have directed lots of harsh criticism in his direction. Mika was apparently spotted entering Trump Tower yesterday, whatever that implies about her current rapport with the incoming commander-in-chief.

“Early in this presidential election cycle, Mika Brzezinski was a big Elizabeth Warren booster, repeatedly urging the Massachusetts senator to throw her hat into the ring. So it was nothing short of stunning to see Brzezinski go on a blistering attack against Warren on [Tuesday’s] Morning Joe ,” the Legal Insurrection website observed .

Scarborough, 53, is a former Republican politician who represented Florida’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2001. Career journalist Mika Brzezinski, 49, a liberal Democrat, is the daughter of Zbigniew Brzezinski, the National Security Adviser to President Jimmy Carter.

“A couple days after the election, Senator Warren vowed to ‘compromise’ with Trump whenever possible, but also confirmed that on some issues, there will be no compromise… It was this sentiment, expressed on the floor of the Senate on Monday, that had Brzezinski up in arms Tuesday morning… There was a time when Brzezinski might have been a steadfast supporter of Warren’s principled opposition to Trump. But apparently that time has passed,” The Daily Beast explained .

Reacting to a clip of Sen. Warren’s speech in which, in part, Warren vowed not to “grovel” to Trump or the Republican-controlled Congress, Mika unleashed this rant.

“Do you lead on anger, though? Because that doesn’t seem very constructive to me. I gotta tell you. I love her; I’m getting tired of this act. There’s a huge part of the country that doesn’t think [Trump will be a disaster], and she might want to be a little inclusive because she is sounding like the people she is accusing of as being exclusive. I mean she’s just got to stop. I’m sorry. It’s getting exhausting. And this was not helpful during the campaign. It wasn’t. There’s an anger there that was shrill and a step above what it needed to be, unmeasured, and almost unhinged. It’s not going to work…”

Brzezinski continued her Warren criticism, given the results of the election that saw Trump emerge with an electoral college landslide .

“And why I’m so critical of that sound bite, and every other rant I’ve heard, is it’s not showing listening, it’s not showing learning, that there was something to be learned, and by the way, at the beginning of a new presidency, isn’t the first thing, isn’t the first thing that should happen out of the box is we look forward to working with Republicans, we support the new president-elect, and we hope to move forward together and find things we can agree on. Isn’t that the example that Democrats have accused Republicans of not holding up to, for eight years of being vitriolic against Republicans for being so difficult, for trying to bring Obama down from day one. Boy! This reminds me of eight years ago, except now it’s Democrats doing it, in a very heated, unmeasured way.”

Separately, the Morning Joe crew claims that former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway, who has received much of the credit for the Trump victory, is no longer in the inner circle of the transition and might not take a position in the incoming administration.

In July, unconfirmed rumors surfaced that Joe Scarborough and the recently divorced Brzezinski, MSNBC co-workers on the show for nine years, are in a romantic relationship.
