Rapper 2 Chainz was acquitted Wednesday after his arrest in February for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
The Atlanta-based rapper was picked up by cops during a February 14 traffic stop on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The hip-hop star was busted on a weed charge but has now been found not guilty by a county judge, reports The Star Democrat .
2 Chainz, real name Tauheed Epps, was on his way to a college homecoming event in February when state troopers pulled over the van he was traveling in.
Police detected a strong smell of burnt marijuana, and a search of the vehicle turned up weed inside a backpack and a marijuana grinder.
The rapper claimed the bag and was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
The rapper’s security guard, who had traveled with the star, testified that he had packed the grinder in the rush to exit the group’s Baltimore hotel room but denied knowing who owned it.
In sort-of-related news (well, in that it’s about 2 Chainz and narcotics), the rapper will make a guest apppearence on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit as former Narcotics parter of Ice-T’s character, Det. Finn. The episode airs May 8.
