A few days before he died, Cory Monteith recorded a video message to his fans.
Good Morning America , who reported the video as the Glee stars “final message” to his fans, said that Monteith recorded the brief message on a recent flight to Vancouver. The video was made for a specific fan but now that Monteith has passed away, Gleeks are taking it as his final message to the world.
Monteith says in the video: “Stay out of trouble. And stay in school.”
Monteith frequently reached out to his fans. Earlier this week, Jane Lynch relayed a story about Monteith traveling to visit a sick fan.
Lynch said : “Cory’s one of the biggest hearts, was a real bright light… I don’t think he left one day unlived. He was a real bright light in our family and we’ve lost a really great guy… He once flew across the country on his own nickel to meet with a sick kid [whose] last wish was to meet him. That’s just the kind of guy he was. Just a real giver.”
Co-star Diana Agron also called Monteith “one of the most generous” people she had ever met.
Agron said: “He was one of the most generous and kind people that I have ever met. He had a smart, curious mind, he was an enormous talent. He was loving to not only me, but my family. My heart goes out to his family, to Lea [Michele], to everyone that is struggling with the loss of our friend.”
