Obamacare “nightmare scenarios” raised by Union bosses will shatter health benefits for middle class Americans.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Obamacare implementation in California could be a disaster in terms of identity theft and fraud according to the California insurance commissioner. Another study claims the Affordable Care Act could cause people to leave their jobs .
Last week, the leaders for International Brotherhood of Teamsters, United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, and UNITE-HERE sent a letter claiming Obamacare will “shatter not only our hard-earned health benefits, but destroy the foundation of the 40 hour week that is the backbone of the American middle class.” Congress is aware of the problem with the original Obamacare law defining full time employment as being 30 hours per week and they’re trying to fix this by changing the Affordable Care Act’s definition to 40 hours.
The unions also claim the “unintended consequences of the ACA are severe. Perverse incentives are causing nightmare scenarios.” The Unions are specifically targeting how Obamacare affects multi-employer health plans arranged between the employers and unions. They say that Obamacare’s regulatory requirements would drive up costs instead of making them more affordable as the Affordable Care Act originally intended. Unions are also afraid their members may choose to use Obamacare’s state exchanges, which gives workers less of a reason to join unions and pay union dues in the first place.
Democratic Party strategist Joe Trippi recently admitted the Democratic Party rushed the passage of the Affordable Care Act because they had the votes at the time instead of fixing health care a piece at time. Retired Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Ben Carson says says it was a mistake to rush Obamacare :
“This is the beginning of the collapse. Usually when you roll out a big program, you roll it out bit by bit. You determine what’s working. You can change things. But to try to roll out something this massive without really knowing what the intricacies are is quite foolish.”
The Federal government has already delayed Obamacare twice until 2015 .
What do you think should be done with the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare?
