Nearly nine months after David Bowie’s death, a source claims that Bowie’s last days were ‘stage managed’ and his life ended at the hands of an assisted suicide, rather than succumbing to the liver cancer that was slowly taking his life.
After keeping his diagnosis of liver cancer a secret for nearly eighteen months, the disease was beginning to show physical signs of its intrusion into Bowie’s body. Only his closest friends were aware of Bowie’s suffering from the cancer.
Fans believed the release of Bowie’s newest album, Blackstar , and his untimely death were quite coincidental. However, most just felt that Bowie held off on the release until he knew there were only days left of his life. Almost no one expected that his death might come as a result of an assisted suicide. Yet, famed rock writer Lesley-Ann Jones has reason to believe that Bowie might have “stage-managed” his death and ended on a high note with an assisted suicide. A radio DJ that spent a lot of time with David Bowie shared his thoughts on Bowie’s death, further confirming Jones’ suspicions.
‘Blackstar’ went on to be David Bowie’s biggest album of his life.

Radio DJ Andy Peebles spent a lot of time with David Bowie over the years, interviewing him for the radio. Based on what he knows about Bowie from the radio interviews and personal conversations, Peebles has no doubt that the coincidence of the release of “Blackstar” and the sudden death of Bowie are not “coincidental” at all, claiming that much of David Bowie’s life was stage-managed, so why would the end of his life be any different, according to Metro .
“Why would his death be any different? If he was able to do it on his own terms, good for him. It’s what we’d all wish for. I consider it remarkable, the way he organized his ending.”
An interview with Bowie’s ex-wife Angie does not confirm or deny the rumor of assisted suicide. Instead, she focuses on the good times they had, refusing to discuss the negative during his mourning.
David Bowie’s manager and producer, Simon Napier-Bell, told the Daily Mail that just a few days before Bowie’s death, the pop icon was seen outside of his apartment with a huge smile, tailored suit, and looked quite good for his condition. His facade of good health in the days leading up to his death seem to collaborate with the rumors of Bowie’s assisted suicide.
“But when you think about it, David stage-managed absolutely everything else, throughout his entire career.”

Peebles spoke about the potential of finding anyone that might have assisted Bowie with his suicide, claiming that it was most likely a deal between Bowie and the person that ended his life. No one else was likely involved to ensure the individual would not be hounded by the media or authorities in the future.
“To protect them, I am sure he won’t have involved his family or his close friends. But when you think about it, David stage-managed absolutely everything else, throughout his entire career.”
David Bowie, born as David Jones, lived life his own way right up until the end of his life. Although we may never know if his death was the cause of succumbing to his cancer, or the result of an assisted suicide, it can be agreed upon that in the end, Bowie did it his way, ending his life on a high note.
“It was a deliberate act. As was everything he did. He knew that he was dying. He’d known for about 18 months. And that’s how he wanted to be remembered: upbeat and happy. He controlled his image to the last.”
