In advance of Burke Ramsey’s, the brother of JonBenet Ramsey, first appearance on The Dr. Phil Show, Dr. Phil is warning audiences that Burke Ramsey’s affect is not what one would expect considering the subject matter. As Dr. Phil asks questions about a child molestation and murder and the family struggle which followed, Burke Ramsey smiles and seems almost amused as he speaks of his dead six-year-old sister. The Dr. Phil Show will show an interview with Burke Ramsey over three hours, and the warning from Dr. Phil likely comes as many viewers will be unnerved by someone, who was once considered a suspect, smiling when speaking of murder.
There were only three people in the Ramsey house the night of JonBenet Ramsey’s murder other than the victim in Boulder, Colorado. The body of the six-year-old beauty queen was found in the basement, and the murderer was never found, according to The Inquisitr . The Ramsey house now remains empty as it has been put on the market several times, but remains unsold.
Burke Ramsey had a difficult childhood that was marked by the murder of his younger sister, but it is difficult to know if his odd demeanor seen on The Dr. Phil Show came before or after the murder of his sister JonBenet Ramsey, per the Daily Mail . The Dr. Phil Show has aired commercials, sharing clips of Burke Ramsey smiling oddly , as if to desensitize viewers to his demeanor.
Burke Ramsey smiled as he excitedly recalled his mother’s reaction to JonBenet going missing. It looks as if he’s talking about a birthday surprise instead of the day his sister was murdered.
“The first thing I remember is my mom bursting in my room, really frantic, saying, ‘Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!’ running around my room – now I know looking for JonBenet,” Burke recalled to Dr Phil. “The next thing I remember is a police officer coming into my room and shining a flashlight.”

Dr. Phil spoke to the press as a psychologist, explaining that Burke Ramsey will not be the conventional family member of a murder victim.
“He’s a software engineer. He works remote. He doesn’t go into work everyday. For 20 years he has been off the grid. And my impression is he’s socially awkward.”
Dr. Phil says it is important to remember that although Burke Ramsey might seem peculiar, all of the Ramseys were ruled out as the murderer by DNA evidence.
“People are going to be very interested in his demeanor, and they’re going to find his demeanor atypical. He might be talking about some pretty dark aspects of this story and smiling while he’s talking about that.”
US Magazine says that Burke Ramsey, now 29, was 9-years-old when JonBenet Ramsey was murdered over Christmas in the basement of their Boulder, Colorado, home. As a result of the murder of their youngest child, JonBenet, John and Patsy Ramsey were very overprotective of Burke Ramsey , as they didn’t want him to know that at one time, he was a murder suspect until ruled out by DNA evidence.
Burke Ramsey explains to Dr. Phil that seeing his face on tabloid covers, and always being under scrutiny has made him a very private person. Dr. Phil asked Burke Ramsey what made him decide it was time to speak out.
“As to why I’m doing it now, it’s the 20th anniversary and apparently still a lot of attention around it, and I guess I kind of wanted to make it about remembering her and not just another news story.”
