Robert Griffin III is in the process of recovering from knee surgery and apparently it’s going really well. It’s going so well that doctor James Andrew called RG3 “superhuman.”
Andrews, who also helped Adrian Peterson bounce back from knee surgery into one of his most productive NFL seasons, said that the Washington Redskins quarterback is way ahead of schedule.
Andrews said : “I’ve been real mum on talking too much about RG3… He wants his recovery to be fairly private, but I can tell you he’s way ahead of schedule. His recovery has been unbelievable so far. RG III is one those superhumans. First patient I ever had like that was Bo Jackson. And recently I, of course, had Adrian Peterson, who is also superhuman. They have an unbelievable ability to recover, where as a normal human being may not be able to recover.”
Andrews said earlier this year that Griffin is expected to be ready by the beginning of the 2013 season. The doctor didn’t update RGIII’s recovery timeline but judging by his superhuman comments the Redskins should expect their quarterback back in the lineup before week 1.
Andrews said in January : “We expect a full recovery and it is everybody’s hope and belief that due to Robert’s high motivation, he will be ready for the 2013 season.”
Adidas also gave its medical opinion in an ad earlier this week called “All In For Week One.”
Griffin, who was named the NFL rookie of the year, helped the Washington Redskins make the playoffs last year before suffering an injury during a loss to the Seattle Seahawks in January.
Do you think Robert Griffin III will make it back by week 1?
