Xbox Live is letting you order pizza with a new app from Pizza Hut.
Have you ever been up to your ears in Halo 4 and had a craving for pizza? There’s an app for that, thanks to Pizza Hut and Xbox Live.
Microsoft seems determined to make sure you never turn off your Xbox. First there was the rumor (unfounded but pretty much known to be true, thanks to a former creative director who couldn’t keep his mouth shut on Twitter) that the Xbox 720 would be always online. Then we discovered that Xbox Live may allow Xbox 720 owners to stream network TV, making it an entertainment hub on a whole new level. Now we can order pizza with an Xbox Live app from Pizza Hut.
As soon as we can just do our jobs using Xbox Live , gamers might never leave the house, except perhaps for dating and exercise.
Pizza Hut once had a deal with TiVo which allowed you to order a pie around meal time, but the menu was clunky and limited. Only time will tell if Xbox Live can offer a better interface and more options. Microsoft and Pizza Hut are hoping they can do better than what TiVo offered.
This deal with Pizza Hut is the first part of Microsoft’s plan to make Xbox Live a viable marketplace. So how long will it be before we can order a used game for our Xbox 360 using Amazon on Xbox Live? Face it, even with shipping, used games can be cheaper than downloading them off Microsoft’s market. Microsoft is also hoping that if they can convince you to buy everything off Xbox Live, they can also get other information for effective advertising .
Microsoft is apparently taking Facebook’s idea and targeting gamers. As of today, you can get a discount on Pizza Hut orders through Xbox Live, such as 15 percent off if you order before May 6, 2013.
Are you excited about ordering from Pizza Hut on Xbox Live?
