Chris Brown may have released the trailer for his highly anticipated documentary, Welcome to My Life , back in April, but it looks like Brown is finally gearing up for the release of the autobiographical film after taking to Instagram on Tuesday to give fans an update on the status of the project.

It’s been five months since Chris Brown unveiled the emotionally-charged trailer for his Welcome to My Life documentary, and despite a small number of updates from Brown and production company Riveting Entertainment regarding the status of the project, little information has been available concerning the film’s projected release date.

However, Riveting Entertainment took to Twitter yesterday to share an update on the status of Brown’s documentary, revealing to followers that release information would be available “very soon” before thanking fans for their patience and support for the project.

“Release info coming VERY SOON!!!” the post began alongside a link to the film’s trailer via Vimeo. “Thanks for everyone’ s patience and support. This is a movie and it takes planning!”

Just hours later, Chris Brown took to his own Instagram account to share a screengrab of Riveting Entertainment’s Twitter, prompting fans to gush over the upcoming documentary in the comments section of Brown’s post.

The news comes just two months after Brown provided a similar update on the status of his documentary. In July, Chris Brown took to Instagram to share a photo of what appears to be the official poster for the film before noting that the project would be “coming soon,” albeit neglecting to offer a firm release date for the project.

Last week, Perez Hilton published a report claiming that Brown had lost a “lucrative deal” totaling $800,000 with Apple Music regarding the rights to his upcoming documentary after the firm learned of his alleged assault on manager Mike G earlier this year.

The report claimed to have spoken to inside sources who confirmed that Chris Brown’s deal with Apple Music was “taken off the table” after the company learned that Mike G had filed an assault and defamation lawsuit against Brown back in June, although neither Chris Brown nor Riveting Entertainment has confirmed the report.

While it’s unclear as to why Apple would reportedly pull the plug on Chris Brown’s Welcome To My Life documentary four months after the filing of Mike G’s lawsuit, the site suggests that the firm may be attempting to “distance itself from the controversial performer” in light of Brown’s ongoing case against actress Baylee Curran, whose claims that Brown had threatened her with a gun prompted a nine-hour standoff with police outside of the singer’s Tarzana home last week.

While there’s no official word as to when or where Chris Brown will release his new documentary as of yet, it looks as though Riveting Entertainment will be releasing additional details concerning the project in the near future.

Welcome to My Life will give viewers an inside look into the “life and story” of Chris Brown and will feature several cameos from celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Mary J Blige, and DJ Khaled as well as a cameo from Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins. The film was produced by Riveting Entertainment and directed by Andrew Sandler, who has previously worked with Chris on music videos for his tracks “Little More (Royalty),” “Picture Me Rollin,” “Anyway,” “Wrist,” and “Back to Sleep.”
