Nokia, as expected this year at CES 2010 have focused some of their efforts on the Nokia N900, a top notch device featuring Maemo 900, a sleek design and a ton of connectivity and their Nokia Booklet 3G which is more sleek in person than any picture could explain. However, the companies main focus this year is definitely on their Ovi software, an excellent set of tools that can keep users connected in a variety of ways.
The Ovi experience at CES includes three stations: Discover, Organize and Play which includes Ovi available games, apps highlighting the business connectivity of the devices and the software users can obtain and a discover section which includes Ovi Maps, a great offering that continues to improve for users.
I particularly enjoyed seeing Ovi Maps displayed on an LCD display which really showed off the programs abilities.
Nokia is also offering a hands on section where users can try out their phones and software.
One Nokia rep explained that many of their users are unfamiliar with Ovi, which really is a shame given the added benefits it brings to users. If you’re sick of your WinMo phone their product offerings may be the alternative you’re looking for. I use Ovi to stay connected to my device from my PC and vice versa, now I have even more reasons to give it a closer look.
