Johnny Depp: Admitted Fan Of ‘Honey Boo Boo’ [Video]

Actor Johnny Depp has a rather curious guilty pleasure in TLC’s Honey Boo Boo Child phenomenon.

Even A-list celebrities have their somewhat shameful TV habits, and the Lone Ranger star is no different. In an interview to promote his latest film (which famously flopped, by the way), Depp talks a little bit about whether he watches TV and admitted that he “could be called a fan” of TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

“I’m a little frightened of the show,” Depp said. “That’s the thing… they’re probably great people, but there are bits that happen that just I am mesmerized by.”

Also in the interview, Depp hinted that he may not want to be an actor forever . At the very least, he seemed to suggest that the high-profile roles aren’t really his fare.

“I really do love making characters and making movies, but yeah, at some time in the next 10 years, I probably just want to be able to look around a little bit, wander a little, maybe experience some degree of anonymity somewhere,” he said.

While Depp will likely never experience a degree of anonymity ever again in his life, his reluctance to take on high-profile roles in high-concept summer films might be a wise one.

Depp made his name on the indie circuit, but with big roles in films like Pirates of the Caribbean , he has become an iconic film star of both talent and box office drawing power. Until lately, that is. The epic bomb that is The Lone Ranger would probably convince anyone to peel back, and that’s not the only flop Depp has survived these past few years.
