The WWE has been hurting in the ratings for awhile now. There is no chance of Monday Night Raw getting canceled anytime soon because it is still a huge draw for the USA Network, but other shows have started to creep up on it. However, Forbes reports that ever since Donald Trump won the presidential election, Raw has fallen behind some surprising shows .
Two shows that have been beating Monday Night Raw in the ratings lately include Love and Hip Hop and Black Ink Crew . The key demographic for the WWE is the 18-49 demographic, and in that demographic, there are four shows that surprisingly beat Raw this week.
The shows that beat the WWE were The O’Reilly Factor, Tucker Carlson Tonight, Special Report and The Five. For those who don’t know, those are all cable news programs that deal with politics. That has to come as a shock to some, but more people watched political news programs than watched Monday Night Raw .
Yes, real life is more important that scripted wrestling but television usually is dominated by entertainment. With Donald Trump as president-elect, it seems that entertainment has also entered the political world.

The New York Post reported that 13.3 million viewers watched CNN during the presidential election, 12.1 million watched Fox News, and 6 million watched MSNBC. That is a huge reason why Monday Night Raw finished that night with its lowest audience ever for the WWE since the show debuted in 1993.
Two weeks later and it seems that the new president-elect is still hurting the WWE in the ratings. While Monday Night Raw started out strong with 3.137 million viewers watching Bill Goldberg announce that he isn’t finished wrestling yet, the numbers dropped to 2.772 million for the main event three hours later. Raw lost to six different shows in the 18-49 demographic.
America is seeing a lot of protests at this time from opponents of Donald Trump. Many people are also protesting anyone they believed helped Trump win the election. Some fans even started a hashtag #boycottWWE on Twitter because the McMahon family donated $8 million to the super PAC supporting Donald Trump.
However, a boycott of the WWE won’t really do too much harm because few people follow through with these things. What will hurt the WWE is that Donald Trump is a huge television ratings draw. As long as the news networks pump out more news about him, people seem to be willing to tune in at the expense of all other entertainment.
With the WWE already suffering in the ratings, they have started pulling out the big guns. Goldberg made his return and beat Brock Lesnar in less than two minutes at the Survivor Series . Goldberg is sticking around and will be in the Royal Rumble , and the Inquisitr reported that Brock Lesnar will be in that match as well .

The Undertaker is back, although he did not appear on SmackDown Live one week after saying that he was coming back for good. There are WWE rumors that the company wants both Conor McGregor and Ronda Rousey, with the latter a possibility for WrestleMania next year.
The WWE is pulling out all the stops but their ratings are only taking minor bumps and then falling again. With news programs trumping them against Monday Night Raw , things might get scary for the company as the new presidential-elect prepares to take power.
