Grand Theft Auto V will offer a new way to escape the police.
If you can’t tell by the title or the game’s history, Grand Theft Auto is about getting away with crime, even in spite of the police presence that threatens your progress at almost every step. You usually start as some upstart criminal at the bottom just trying to make his way to the top of the economic ladder by taking what wasn’t yours in the first place, the most famous item of which is the motor vehicle.
Where Grand Theft Auto makes it fun is in the freedom you gain, combined with the level of trouble you can get into. As you flee the police, you can steal other people’s rides, gun people down, or even have a Rambo -style stand-off between your handy-dandy rocket launcher and half of the military. If you ever wanted to get away with something really heinous, Grand Theft Auto lets you do it without any real-world consequences.
Grand Theft Auto V will be the first game to give you another option to flee the police. Perhaps inspired by games like Assassin’s Creed II , you can start trouble with gangs and get the police stuck dealing with them as you run off to freedom.
GameStop revealed on its Facebook page, “In GTAV , street gangs are still a problem in Los Santos, while the Lost Motorcycle Club is making moves in Blaine County. Some gangs are more interested in fighting the cops than each other – use that to your advantage when escaping the authorities.”
This sounds like a much more fun way to deal with increasingly heavy police chases, as before, if you had a high enough wanted level, you pretty much had to die to get rid of them.In other words, if you’re getting some serious red and blue lights on your tail, you can lead them into certain gang territories where the gangs will make trouble with them. The police will be left fighting the gang for their own survival, and abandon their pursuit.
