‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4 Premiere Title Leaked, But What Does It Mean?

The title of the first episode of season 4 of The Walking Dead has leaked online.

TVLine was the first to report that the premiere, which was written by new showrunner Scott Gimple, is titled “30 Days Without an Accident.”

What the title is referring to unclear at this point. But Michael Ausiello speculates that it may refer to Rick’s decision to move the Woodbury survivors into the prison , which has gone 30 days without a zombie attack, or it could allude to Rick going a whole month without getting phone calls from or seeing Ghost Lori. Another possibility Ausiello poses is that Rick and his ragtag band of survivors have discovered a new home base and are counting down how long it’s been since an attack.

Another theory is that the prison has gone 30 days without an attack from the Governor , who had become a larger threat than the zombies by the end of the season 3.

Whatever the title is referring to, the survivors won’t be safe for long, according to makeup designer and new executive producer Greg Nicotero, who directed the episode and promised it would be filled with “great drama and great action.”

“In the first episode this season, one of the guys in my crew was like, ‘You did every gag that you ever did in three years of The Walking Dead in one episode,’” Nicotero teased. “We had walkers. We had mummified corpses. We had puppets. We had zombie bites…”

While Nicotero didn’t reveal who was bitten, but fans know that it isn’t exactly a death sentence — Hershel was bitten on his lower leg in the third season premiere, but Rick was able to save him by amputating the leg at the knee.Nicotero added, “The story arcs and the script this season are astoundingly detailed, and every single nuance is there for a reason.”

The Walking Dead season 4 premieres this October on AMC.
