American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has been announced as the newest performer for the 2013 North Carolina State Fair. Concerts at the fair will include singers in the genres of rock, country, contemporary Christian, and bluegrass.
McCreery is a Garner, North Carolina native, and he keeps coming back to his roots. This will be the second year in a row that Scotty has performed at the NC State Fair.
Scotty McCreery will perform two consecutive concerts on October 21 and October 22.
Before McCreery takes to the stage Sister Hazel will kick off the State Fair on October 17. Sister Hazel is best known for the hit songs “All for You” and “Change Your Mind.”
Performing on October 18 is Dove Award winners Francesca Battistelli and Building 429.
Country music singer Joe Nicols will perform the following night. Nicols is best known for his Grammy-nomination and the country hits “Gimme That Girl” and “Brokenheartsville.”
The night before Scotty McCreery takes to the stage, another act will perform; that act has not yet been revealed.
Following McCreery will be Bluegrass band Dailey and Vincent.
On October 25 Christian rock group MercyMe will perform.
October 26 will welcome country music artists and song writer Randy Houser. Randy has penned such hits as “Anything Goes” and “How Country Feels.” Houser also co-wrote Trace Adkin’s huge hit “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.”
Closing down the North Carolina State Fair will be the Eli Young Band on October 27.
If you are a fan of Michael Jackson, the Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band will also perform on October 24.
While the Scotty McCreery concerts run $25 per ticket, the other shows are offered at a more modest $5 to $15 each.
All NC State Fair concerts start at 7:30 pm.
