Royal Baby Watch 2013 has begun!
Anticipating the arrival of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s first child sometime this month, media outlets are officially on Royal Baby Watch as they set up camp outside St. Mary’s Hospital in London.
The goal of the press – who have come from all over the world to await the birth of the royal baby – is to capture the money shot as the new parents exit the hospital. It is expected that Kate and William will introduce their baby to the world the same way Princess Diana and Prince Charles did back in 1982 and again in 1984 for the births of their two sons, William and Harry.
According to a statement made Tuesday, July 2, by St. Mary’s Hospital – where Kate, 31, plans to give birth naturally – services will not be hindered by the expected crowds and their buildings will remain completely accessible.
Space is being set up outside the hospital for media to congregate for the event that has the world watching and waiting.
As for knowing when baby will make his or her debut? In this case, the press will just have to be patient.
Reports on the Duchess of Cambridge’s due date have stated a number of varying dates throughout July. Once source claims July 11, another July 13. Kate herself said “mid-July”, and in April acknowledged that “babies have their own agenda”.
Recently the Telegraph said Kate’s mother has been telling her friends that her grandchild will be a Leo, which means her daughter would have to give birth sometime after July 22.
During the last week of June, the soon-to-be mom stayed home as her husband attended a friend’s wedding 300 miles outside London without her, for fear of an early labor.
Kate has been preparing for the upcoming birth by creating a playlist for the delivery room. One source says she’s “been filling her iPod with music she wants playing while she’s in labor” including songs from Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris, and Of Monsters and Men.
It has been over 30 years since the birth of a future monarch in England. Needless to say, the entire nation is buzzing with exciting as Royal Baby Watch 2013 continues!
