Malia Obama is taking New York by storm. The eldest daughter of Michelle and Barack Obama drove fans mad as she settled into the place she will call home for the time being. Word is Malia has star power on the streets of NYC and with her boss at a new internship.
Malia Obama, like her father and mother, knows how to make a splash wherever she goes. In the latest news, the former first daughter stopped New York in its tracks. Malia was spotted settling into the Big Apple for a few months as part of an internship with Harvey Weinstein.
Malia has already wowed the Pulp Fiction and Lion producer at the Harvey Weinstein Company and appears to be a natural picking out potential blockbuster scripts, according to Hollywood Life .
Malia’s first day on the job was Jan. 30. She is expected to be there through the spring season. Already, there’s evidence that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Insiders say Malia Obama is “killing it as a fresh-faced intern, as she’s already pitching movie scripts to top executives.” Malia has made such an impression that the company has entrusted her to pick out viable scripts for future projects.
Although Malia’s position is ground level, the talented teenager shows signs of maturity in the industry. Perhaps, it has something to do with her previous experience on Hollywood sets.
Recall that the Obama daughter’s first foray into the business was in 2014. Then, 15-year-old Malia was hired as a production assistant for CBS’ Extant , starring Halle Berry, as TMZ reported.
The following summer, Malia accepted an internship as a set assistant with Lena Dunham’s HBO hit series, Girls, according to Daily Mail .

Malia Obama’s internship in New York comes as no surprise. At the start of Barack’s second term, the president and first lady sat down for an interview with People and spoke about the next four years . Mrs. O said Malia had expressed an interest in filmmaking and was pursuing colleges that supported her possible career aspirations.
Malia is on a gap year from Harvard University where she was accepted for admission after graduating from high school recently. She’s set to enroll as a freshman in the fall, but it’s unclear how she will juggle her school and career goals or just focus on academics for the time being.

Malia was spotted on the streets of New York recently and despite her efforts to blend in, eagle-eyed pedestrians spotted her. It didn’t help that Secret Service bodyguards accompanied her. Sources say when Malia Obama exited the Met Breuer museum; fans swarmed her like she was a rock star.
A person who saw Malia in New York took to her Twitter account to update her followers of the first daughter sighting.
“Was at The Met yesterday, turned around and Malia Obama was standing behind me. She’s too cute! Malia Obama at last day of show. Only caught a glimpse & a bit of her convo w a friend but she’s cool & smart (obvi).”
Malia Obama’s parents are wrapping up their post-White House vacation before they return to work as private citizens soon. The former president and first lady jetted to Palm Springs, California on the day of President Trump’s inauguration, as Inquisitr previously reported.

From there, they took a private jet owned by Sir Richard Branson and landed on one of his islands in the British Virgin Islands. The couple has been enjoying time with the Virgin Group founder and his daughter, Holly.
Pictures of Malia Obama’s mother and father suggest they are having a good time in the sun and near the surf. Barack even showed his swag by turning his hat to the back during their holiday.
