Swimming Baby Crosses Pool At 16 Months Old

Swimming baby Elizabeth is only 16 months old, but her young age hasn’t stopped her from taking to the family swimming pool with ease.

While many people never learn how to swim or stop their “training” at the doggy paddle, little Elizabeth was trained by an experienced lifeguard and a registered nurse with pediatrics training.

According to the swimming baby’s dad, she is a “very determined little girl” who wanted to learn how to swim.

While she is a determined little baby, her father admits that he was surprised when she swam across the pool and then didn’t want to swim back to him because she was having so much fun.

The YouTube video has actually posted on August 28, 2012 but recently gained a lot of attention and 879,709 views.

On the video’s YouTube page, the girl’s father writes:

“At no point do we force our child to do anything she is unwilling to try. We are able to recognize infant/toddler fatigue in the swimming pool. Elizabeth is a very determined little girl and sometimes she wants to roll over and breath as she was taught and sometimes she wants to hold her breath the whole way. I was 100% prepared to jump in at first sign of distress. Please watch some of the other videos I’ve posted of her swimming and spread the word. Teach your child how to swim because it only takes a moment for them to slip under and drown. some times the difference between life and death can be six inches of water and their ability to flip over on their back and take a breath.”

In a warning to other parents, the little girl’s father adds:

“Please! do not just throw your child in the water and expect them to swim. That is both dangerous and a quick way to traumatize your child and scare them from ever swimming. ISR uses specialized techniques in training infants and toddlers.”

Are you astonished by the swimming baby and her young 16-month-old capabilities?
