A Brooklyn shooting very early Sunday morning has sparked a manhunt for the two men that you can see in the surveillance video above that was posted today by the New York City Police Department. A total of nine people were hurt in the shooting, which reportedly took place when one or more persons was denied entrance to a house party.

Here’s the 67th precinct statement that NYPD has posted to YouTube:

“On Sunday, June 30, 2013, at 12:50 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of multiple persons shot at 616 East 52 Street, within the confines of the 67 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a total of seven persons shot. EMS also responded to the location and transported five victims to Brookdale Hospital, and two victims to Kings County Hospital, all in stable condition.

“Further investigation revealed a female victim had walked into Methodist Hospital, in stable condition and another female victim walked into Beth Israel Hospital, also in stable condition. There are no arrest(s). The investigation is ongoing.”

A CNN report described the neighborhood as being in an East Flatbush area that’s a mix of residential and commercial buildings. The troubled area has already had 21 shooting incidents reported this year.

It was reportedly a youngish group at the party , with the people in attendance being described as under age 45.

A New York Daily News report said that the shooting panicked the crowd , causing many people to flee at least one gunman by jumping a nearby fence. Their report said that about 60 people there at the time.

Seven of the victims are now out of the hospital, and all nine shooting victims will survive. However, the boldness of the crime will likely spark yet more debate about whether or not New York City’s notoriously tough gun control laws are really working.
