Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston don’t even have an official nickname as a couple yet. But whether their fans (and enemies) eventually go for a combination such as TayTom or Hiddleswift or, perchance, TomTay , the Internet immediately erupted with all sorts of responses, pointed out ET .
From mocking memes to mean tweets to mourning, responses varied from dismay to entertainment.
“Reenactment of what happened in the @etnow office when everyone found out Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift are dating,” revealed Ashley Crossan of ET .

But some just came to mock.
“You better call Loki with the good hair,” teased one Twitter comment.

Then there were those who mourned.
“it can’t be true. I love him too much,” shared one sad Twitter user.

Others are already anticipating some great music to come from the coupling.
“Please let Taylor Swift dating Tom Hiddleston result in a song that includes the word Tesseract,” pleaded one such fan.
Of those looking forward to the future, at least one person hoped that the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer would continue dating others.
“I like the idea of Taylor Swift beginning a reign of terror, dating all of The Internet’s Boyfriends,” suggested that Twitter follower.

Many of the Internet comments contended that the relationship seemed fake and staged, noted the Daily Mail .
After the photos circulated showing the 26-year-old singer and 35-year-old actor locking lips on a Rhode Island beach, those skeptics claim that there is no true romance behind the pictures. For those devoted to making lists, Tom may have earned a spot on Taylor’s boyfriend resume, which already includes John Mayer, Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Calvin Harris.
Of those relationships, she wrote songs such as “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” assumed to be devoted to Harry, and “Dear John,” thought to focus on Mayer. Consequently, some of the memes contemplated her long history.
“So he calls me up and he’s like ‘I still love you’ and I’m like: ‘Wait are you Joe, Taylor, Luca, John, Cory, Toby, Jake, Garret, Eddie, Conor, Patrick or Harry?’ ” teased one.
Others were already looking forward to the break-up song, while some emphasized the belief that the hot new couple alerts were based on fiction.
“Staged, awkward, and completely fake,” read some of the Twitter allegations.
One user pleaded for the ability to wipe out the vision of the pictures.
“I just saw the moost awkward pics of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston kissing/holding each other? how do I unsee pass me the mind bleach (sic).”
Many of the Twitter comments used the term “awkward,” while others just found the photos “hilarious.”
Humor prevailed in the memes , pointed out the Mirror . Also trending was what just might become the new nickname for the couple: Hiddleswift.
“Not sure what Hiddleswift is but context clues are telling me it’s either something from Harry Potter or Game of Thrones,” joked one.
There were those who simply enjoyed the show on the Internet.

Others urged anyone on Twitter who had missed the excitement to get involved.
“According to ‘moments’, everyone is ‘freaking out about hiddleswift!’. just a heads up. get freaked,” recommended one such Twitter user.
Some Twitter comments used the new celebrity romance, whether it is fake or true, to offer up witty comments built around the Avengers.

When it came to Internet users who were felt that the romance was not real, however, Twitter erupted with comments that staging the love fest in such a public place was an obvious ploy.
“Let’s go to the most secluded but also somehow the MOST PUBLIC place ever!” pointed out one such skeptic.
