Josh Brolin, the charming actor with rugged features, has always been thought of as a “man’s man” type of actor. However, his latest role in Hail Caesar , the recent movie with an all-star cast, is a deviation from the macho archetypal character he usually plays.

Josh Brolin plays the role of Eddie Mannix, a professional fixer who manages to shelter scandalous celebrities from the press during the 60s era. Apart from being a family man and a bureaucrat, Josh’s character in the movie is shown to multitask between various jobs including a matchmaker, psychologist, and a detective.

According to Uproxx , the movie required Josh to portray Eddie Mannix as a problem-solver who appeared to be stressed out and always in angst.

In fact, when Josh Brolin found out that he looked too healthy for the role, he took efforts to look unhealthier by eating apple fritters. The Sicario actor confessed that he felt enormous pressure while working with established actors like George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, and Alden Ehrenreich, whose acting skills at times overwhelmed him.

Josh Brolin did plenty of research in order to get into the skin of the character. He found that real life professional fixers like Eddie Mannix were close-lipped and lead a life of massive debauchery. However, he wanted to portray Mannix as a person who walked the thin line between unethical behavior and a caring attitude.

It seems that it will be difficult for Josh Brolin to shrug off his macho image altogether as he is set to play a major role in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War from the Marvel franchise. Josh will be playing Thanos, the galactic overlord who will be battling the combined forces of Marvel superheroes in an attempt to achieve God-like powers with the help of Infinity Stones.

As Thanos, Josh Brolin will be playing arguably one of the most terrifying characters in the Marvel Universe. According to SlashFilm , Josh Brolin spoke about how excited he was about the movie’s release and how the story is going to unfold.

“It’s really fun what they’ve chosen to do with the story. I think it’s brilliant, personally. I was blown away, and had goose pimples pretty much 50 percent of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and pretty amazed that I’m going to be involved in it.”

And although Josh Brolin is understandably nervous about playing Thanos, the Hail Caesar star has full faith in the Russo Brothers and the Marvel Studios team and is confident that it will all come together beautifully in the end. Brolin sought the advice of Mark Ruffalo, his close friend who plays the role of the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Cinema Blend , Mark Ruffalo advised Josh to relax and enjoy himself as it was fun and exciting to play a Marvel character.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Josh Brolin was spotted enjoying lunch at Whole Foods in Los Angeles with his fiancée Kathryn Boyd before embarking on a road trip through Arizona and New Mexico.

Josh and Kathryn began dating in March 2013, and three years later they are engaged to be married. According to the Daily Mail , the couple looked more in love than ever as they enjoyed lunch together. Josh wore a black V-neck top which was matched with a pair of denim jeans.

His adventurous look was complemented by a pair of hiking boots, a cap and a set of shades. It seems that the Everest actor has embarked on a journey to scale greater heights in both his professional and personal life, and his fans are undoubtedly excited to see Josh Brolin in his upcoming Marvel role.
