Say what you will about Donald Trump; one thing’s for sure, he never fails to seize on an opportunity, no matter how tragic it may be.
That’s just what the presumptive GOP nominee did when he further stoked the anger, grief, and confusion gripping the country following the shooting inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, where 50 people were brutally massacred and another 53 wounded.
In a series of Twitter posts , Donald Trump launched a tirade against the Democrats, particularly on President Obama and prospective presidential opponent, Hillary Clinton, for their allegedly weak leadership.
What has happened in Orlando is just the beginning. Our leadership is weak and ineffective. I called it and asked for the ban. Must be tough

“Is President Obama going to finally mention the words radical Islamic terrorism? If he doesn’t he should immediately resign in disgrace!” he wrote.
He didn’t even miss a beat even with the backlash his one post generated when he mocked, “Appreciate the congrats for being right on radical Islamic terrorism, I don’t want congrats, I want toughness & vigilance. We must be smart!”
While the posts may appear to be a result of his stream of consciousness, the message behind is very clear: if he wins, the migration of Muslim refugees into the country will have to stop.
In a statement published on his website, Donald Trump claimed that nobody should be surprised by the Orlando shooting since the US accepts about 100,000 migrants from the Middle East annually.

“Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term,” he said. “And we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing.”
He said the Orlando shooting drives home the point that every American needs to be protected from “Radical Islamic Terrorism” which “advocates hate for women, gays, Jews, Christians and all Americans.”
“I am going to be a President for all Americans, and I am going to protect and defend all Americans. We are going to make America safe again and great again for everyone,” he added.
In my speech on protecting America I spoke about a temporary ban, which includes suspending immigration from nations tied to Islamic terror.

The shooter, who was killed by the police in a shootout, was identified as 29-year-old Omar Mateen, whose father was Afghan. Initial reports claimed that he pledged allegiance to ISIS before raining bullets inside the nightclub.

President Obama described the Orlando shooting as an act of terror and an act of hate. He was understandably cautious, and that’s because the investigators are still gathering the facts surrounding the shooting.

But he said that the FBI considers that attack as an act of terror. “I’ve directed that we must spare no effort to determine what — if any — inspiration or association this killer may have had with terrorist groups.”
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton issued a stern statement about the need for the country to protect Americans from threats both internally and externally.

She also called on for stricter gun control in the US, a measure that the Democratic Party has been trying to lobby for years now. The former State Secretary said that “weapons of war have no place in the streets.”
“We need to keep guns like the ones used last night out of the hands of terrorists or other violent criminals,” she said.
The New York Times commented that Donald Trump is breaking tradition once again, as a terror attack is typically met by candidates with restraint and encouragement for people to rally around and be strong. Nevertheless, most of his Republicans party mates are also silent amid his tirades, which may be a hint of their position on the issue.
