Tila Tequila ignited a social media firestorm on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, by tweeting about having cowboy boots on to hunt illegals, just as the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (I.C.E.) confessed to letting criminal aliens slip back into their human shield “sanctuary cities.” Despite having committed burglary, larceny, and drug possession, these illegals were released by I.C.E. allegedly due to President Barack Obama’s immigration policy changes overriding police concerns.
Social media icon Tila Tequila known for her racy snapshots online, posted the following Instagram at 3:03 pm. on June 7, 2016.
“Ain’t nuthin better than riding around Texas in my cowboy boots to hunt down these damn illegals! #SendThemBack”
Leading the backlash against Tila was celebrity blogger Perez Hilton who reminded the Houston-raised star of a bisexual-themed dating show, of her own origins. On his blog, Perez said that perhaps Tequila forgot “she’s an immigrant seeing as how her real name is Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen,” and that she was born in Singapore after her family fled Vietnam during the war.
Meanwhile, as Tila Tequila wages her online battles, there is growing official concern of reoffending criminals taking cover in sanctuary city communities serving as human shields. Identified as sanctuary cities are Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, Salt Lake Ciy, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
According to Apsan Law Offices , “ sanctuary city ” is a name given to a city in the United States that follows certain procedures that shelter illegal aliens. The term is most commonly used for cities that do not permit police or municipal employees to inquire about one’s immigration status. Perceived by citizens like Tila Tequila as giving aliens a free pass in their commission of crimes, the existence of sanctuary cities has also been a source of frustration for law enforcement authorities trying to do their job.
American Renaissance reports that rather than deporting 19,723 criminal illegal aliens in 2015, I.C.E. released them. What has upset bystanders like Tila Tequila is that among those enjoying the reprieve are 208 convicted of murder, over 900 convicted of sex crimes and 12,307 of drunk driving, as confirmed by government records.
An analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies shows that those released into virtually every state and territory of America share a total of 64,197 convictions among them, for an average of 3.25 convictions each. I.C.E. sources further reveal that these perpetrators irking Tila Tequila and her online supporters, were convicted of 8,234 violent crimes.
Director of Policy Studies for the Center Jessica M. Vaughan said that I.C.E. has also slashed the number of criminals arrested in local communities, of concern to citizens like Tila Tequila. Explaining that her analysis also included a map of the releases, Vaughan said this.
“In 2015, I.C.E. made 119,772 arrests, or just half the number of arrests made in 2013, 232,287.”
The Latin Times portrays Tila as the author of her own self-inflicted backlash. Her online rants backed Donald Trump ‘s statement about rapists, murderers, and criminals among the illegals, mentioned her negative publicity in Mexico, complained about being mistaken for Mexican when she gets her nails done at Vietnamese shops, referred to receiving bad influence from blacks or Mexicans in the past, and pushed back against those emailing her death threats. On the positive side, Tequila did admit that Mexicans are good at making Lucas chilli sour candies, and that some Mexicans can be hot.

While not enmeshed in the controversy around illegal aliens, Tila continues to be widely recognized as an American model, television personality, singer, songwriter, actress, writer and blogger. Tequila’s imprint from her perennial presence on social networking websites, points back to the days when she was the most popular person on Myspace.
She still enjoys renown for having starred in her own reality television series almost a decade ago, the bisexual-themed A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila , that became MTV’s second highest-rated series premiere of 2007.
