Chris Brown is no stranger to calling people out on social media, so when Brown discovered that his baby mama, Nia Guzman, had shared a photo of their 2-year-old daughter, Royalty, dressed in a tutu on Instagram, Brown wasted no time in criticizing Guzman’s choice of attire for their daughter on the social media site.
On Friday, Chris Brown took to Instagram to share a photo of daughter Royalty dressed in a black tutu and matching legwarmers before taking to the caption of the photo to blast Nia over her choice of outfit for the toddler.
In the caption of his photo, obtained by The Shade Room, Chris Brown explains, “It’s crazy to me that a parent would [be] OK dressing our daughter like she [is] 16. I ain’t cool wit that. SHE IS 2!!!!”
It didn’t take long for fans to begin weighing-in with their thoughts on Guzman’s choice of dress for daughter Royalty, with one fan showing their support for Brown’s criticism of the outfit. “This looks like she’s in dance class or ballet but she should atleast [sic] have on tights which u are suppose to wear with your leotard..@chrisbrownofficial u are absolutely right.”
However, other fans defended Nia Guzman against Brown’s criticism by arguing that it may be the pose, and not the outfit, that appears to be causing debate over the photo with one fan explaining, “The pose is a Lil weird but she is in a tutu in what looks like a dance class he is just an overprotective father.”
In response to the growing criticism over the photo, Nia Guzman took to Instagram to defend herself against Chris Brown’s claims while pointing out that the photo in question was taken during one of Royalty’s dance classes.
“If anybody thinks something is wrong with a baby…mad at the world in dance class…in her TUTU…U need to go pray! *hashtag emoji* Namaste,” Guzman wrote in the comment’s section of the photo, as captured by The Shade Room.
This isn’t the first time that Chris Brown and Nia Guzman have publicly criticized one another over concerns regarding their daughter; the duo previously battled it out on social media over accusations suggesting that Brown’s tobacco and marijuana use had given their daughter asthma.
In January, Guzman explained to TMZ that Brown and his friends’ regular use of cigarettes and marijuana had exposed their daughter to “an extreme amount of secondhand smoke” that ultimately led the toddler to develop asthma. In addition, Nia further criticized Chris by noting that he’s “a bad influence” on Royalty and notes that their daughter often “reeks of smoke” when she returns home from visiting with Brown.
In response to Guzman’s claims, Chris Brown took to Instagram to blast the asthma rumors before accusing Nia of attempting to “get some sort of increased income,” writing , “I quit cigarettes on New Years. NO ONE smokes around my daughter. I take care of my daughter and I would never ever put her in a position that will harm her,” TMZ reports .
The news comes just one week after Chris Brown gushed over daughter Royalty during her second birthday party at his home in Tarzana, Calif., taking to Instagram to share several photos and videos of the toddler enjoying a variety of birthday activities including swimming, playing with bubbles, and singing along with Elmo.
In one Instagram video, Royalty can be seen belting out the lyrics to “Let It Go” from Frozen , prompting Brown to to praise Royalty’s vocals in the caption of the video with, “*heart emojis* I think we got a little singer on our hands! #ROYALTY.”
