Six down, 26 to go. First-round 2009 NFL draft pick Michael Oher has agreed to contract terms with the Baltimore Ravens and will report to training camp forthwith.
The contract, according to the Ravens’ Web site , is for five years. The original story did not contain the dollar amounts. The Ravens become the third team to sign all its draft picks from this year’s draft, behind the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Oher missed four practice sessions before signing, but will start training on Thursday. Taken #23 in the 2009 draft, Oher is a 6’4?, 309lb behemoth from Memphis, Tennessee, drafted out of Mississippi where he played left tackle for the only team to beat the championship-winning Florida Gators.
Oher is expected to start for the Ravens this season at right tackle, forming a long-term partnership with fourth-year left tackle Jared Gaither. He is at least nominally in a positional battle with Adam Terry for the position left vacant by the retiring Willie Anderson, who played one year for the Ravens after moving from Cincinnati.
