The Originals Season 3 finale airs in just over two weeks. What can fans expect in the episode titled “The Bloody Crown?” The CW has released the press release, which reveals the Mikaelson family troubles are not over yet. In fact, some characters will be dealing with some new problems as the season comes to an end.
Every TV show is different, but most threats are introduced at the beginning of a season. However, the synopsis for The Originals Season 3, Episode 21, titled “Give ‘Em Hell, Kid” hints that a new villain is coming one week before the season finale.
“A MAN ON A MISSION — After receiving new visions of the looming prophecy, Freya (Riley Voelkel) uncovers that her family is on a collision course with a dangerous new enemy,” The Originals Online wrote regarding the synopsis for the penultimate episode . “Meanwhile, with the help of Detective Kinney (guest star Jason Dohring), Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) and Kol (guest star Nathaniel Buzolic) travel to the ancestral world to put a stop to the witches and take back their city once and for all. Elsewhere, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) confront Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) after a heartbreaking plan gone wrong has sent him spiraling.”

In the Season 3 finale of The Originals , the identity of the person who could destroy the Mikaelsons is revealed. Does this mean that the prophecy will be fulfilled? Let’s hope not, especially since The CW renewed the vampire series for Season 4. However, the Mikaelson prophecy is not the only thing viewers will see in “The Bloody Crown.” Expect a big change in Marcel, a new threat, and Klaus having to face enemies from the past.
“After months of thwarting off dangerous threats and deadly attacks, the Mikaelson siblings finally come face to face with the one person that could lead to their ultimate demise,” Spoilers Guide wrote about The Originals Season 3 finale . “With the stakes higher than ever and the compound overrun by an army of his oldest sworn enemies, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is put on trial for centuries of atrocities he’s committed. Meanwhile, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who has been spiraling out of control following an act of betrayal by those closest to him, is stunned by the unexpected arrival of someone from his past.”
Speaking of Marcel encountering someone from the past, it could have something to do with the new threat. The Originals character is changed by Davina’s death. It will also alter how Marcel deals with the Mikaelson family, according to showrunner Michael Narducci.

“The Mikaelsons will take care of each other no matter what and he is not someone inside that circle of protection,” Narducci teased to Entertainment Weekly about Marcel’s storyline following Davina’s death . “And just at this moment when he’s looking at them with new eyes, an opportunity has come into play that would change forever the power dynamic. That, to me, is one of the most exciting things about this entire season, the idea of a Marcel who is no longer beholden to Klaus and a second-string power level to Klaus. Marcel has a very difficult choice ahead of him.”
One thing to expect next season is more connectivity between The Vampire Diaries and The Originals . As previously reported by the Inquisitr , TVD executive producer Julie Plec teased she would like to do more crossovers. She also revealed that Caroline Forbes talking about not finding Klaus Mikaelson in New Orleans was definitely a hint.
What do you think is going to happen in the Season 3 finale of The Originals ? Will the Mikaelson prophecy be fulfilled, or will there be a way out?
