Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell have been virtually inseparable since the finale of ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 season aired in March. However, it looks like Ben and Lauren split briefly this past weekend. Luckily, it sounds like it was a very brief bit of time apart for the lovebirds, and they will be reunited very quickly and everything with this relationship is totally fine. What’s the scoop?
Lauren Bushnell and Ben Higgins have been on the go quite a bit since their finale aired, hitting three different hotspots in the past week alone. The Bachelor lovebirds traveled to Austin, Texas, Miami, Florida, and Las Vegas, Nevada, together over the past week or so, but Monday she posted a photo and note on Instagram that explained the brief bit of time apart.
“I’m not one get all sentimental but Ben flew home yesterday while I stayed with my family to celebrate Mothers Day and it was the first day we’ve spent apart in a few weeks. The second he left I felt a piece of me missing. I can’t wait to get home today to the most amazing person I’ve ever met. I’m so thankful for you, Ben.”
It sounds as if Higgins headed to Warsaw, Indiana, on his own to spend a bit of time with his family while Bushnell may have stayed in Las Vegs through the weekend. Why spend the weekend apart? As Bachelor fans saw from earlier posts that the couple put on their social media pages, Lauren’s family was out in Las Vegas for the weekend, so it does make sense that she would spend Mother’s Day with her mom while Ben headed off to see his own on such an important family day.
Ben and Lauren have faced plenty of rumors about the state of their relationship in just the short time since they were able to go public. One tabloid will claim that the Bachelor stars are splitting up, while another one will claim that the two are on the verge of their wedding day. Based on what Higgins and Bushnell themselves have said, they are doing great as a couple, are getting settled together in Denver, Colorado, where he is based, and wedding planning will begin soon .
Higgins didn’t mention the brief time apart on his Instagram, but he did post a photo similar to Lauren’s with a sweet note. Another photo showed everybody together in Vegas, and Ben noted that they had gathered out there for Mother’s Day. The post included Lauren’s mom, dad, sister Mollie, and her boyfriend, but her brothers were unable to make the trip. The Bachelor stars did reconnect with fellow Season 20 contestants Emily and Haley Ferguson while they were there, and it looks like they had a great time.
What comes next for Ben and Lauren? The two recently shared that they do have additional trips lined up, and it sounds as if one relatively local trip may be to meet up with Bachelorette Trista Sutter and her family, as the two ladies have been bantering on social media about getting together. Higgins and Bushnell are on the go quite a bit these days, but it does seem that he is back at work with the company he was with before filming his Bachelorette and Bachelor seasons. Meanwhile, she is said to be working on a part-time basis again for Alaska Airlines.
It looks like so far Ben and Lauren have found a pretty good balance when it comes to utilizing the opportunities that come their way and making a home together in Denver. They have done a handful of public appearances since their finale aired, but several have been back in Indiana and were charity events that were meaningful to Ben.
Will Ben and Lauren manage to make their relationship last and end up tying the knot? Many Bachelor fans do think that this pair is the real deal, and everybody is hoping that a wedding will soon be in the works. JoJo Fletcher is up next as ABC’s The Bachelorette 2016 lead, and her season debuts on Monday, May 23. Stay tuned for updates from Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell as they both get back to Denver and update fans on what comes next for their fairytale romance.
