NBA rumors are swirling around Chris Bosh. The All-Star center wants to play again this season, but the Miami Heat are against the idea. The franchise is concerned about the health of Bosh, even though he keeps insisting that he’s healthy enough to play. Bosh doesn’t want to miss out on competing for a championship, so he is doing something dramatic to try to force the Heat to let him back on the court. According to ESPN , Bosh has asked the NBA Players Association to convince Miami to let him play.
For years, Chris Bosh was the franchise player for the Toronto Raptors. He would frequently put up tremendous numbers. That led to a few appearances at the NBA All-Star Game. The fan base was none too pleased when he decided to take his talents down to South Beach and join the Miami Heat. The two teams are facing one another in the second round of the playoffs right now.
Unfortunately for Chris Bosh, he’s not on the court for the Miami Heat. He would love nothing more than to beat the Toronto Raptors, a team that he felt never could put together a roster good enough to enable him to compete for a championship in the NBA. He’s currently sitting on the sidelines with a mystery ailment. Neither Bosh nor the Heat are saying too much about what is keeping the 6’11” forward off the court.
Chris Bosh has been using social media and mainstream media in an attempt to convince the Miami Heat to let him play. Several journalists and analysts have talked about how badly Bosh was missed during the series against the Charlotte Hornets. Bosh made sure to let everyone know of that by posting their tweets on his own timeline. He’s even posted videos of himself making outside shots to let the world know that he is capable of playing.
None of that is working on the Miami Heat, though. Team president Pat Riley knows that it is a tough situation to be in. He cannot afford the negative publicity that will surely follow if Chris Bosh is injured on the court because he allowed it to happen. The 240-pound center is reportedly on blood thinners, so he is more vulnerable than the typical NBA player.
The Miami Heat really could use Chris Bosh against the Toronto Raptors. Their foe is led by one of the best back courts in the NBA. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are difficult to stop, so Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade have their work cut out for them. Bosh could have been the advantage that the Heat need because very few big men in the National Basketball Association can cover him.
If they get past the Toronto Raptors, the Miami Heat are going to need Chris Bosh as well. They’re going to be playing against the Atlanta Hawks or Cleveland Cavaliers. The Hawks are one of the most versatile and unselfish teams in the league. Bosh will be needed to counter Paul Millsap and Al Horford. If the Heat have to play the Cavaliers, then Bosh will be needed against Kevin Love or Tristan Thompson, both of whom are match-up nightmares.
The situation between Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat is turning ugly. It’s hard to blame either side. Bosh is a competitor. He wants to play, especially since it’s the NBA Playoffs. It’s also hard to blame the Heat because they need to ensure that players are protected. A bad incident not only gives them a black eye, but it also hurts the entire National Basketball Association.
