The NFL Draft, 2016 edition, began in Chicago yesterday. The future NFL rookies showed up on the red carpet with their moms, answering questions and showing off their unique sense of fashion. The Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers made trades to move up on draft day, Laremy Tunsil was the victim of a Twitter scandal, and Jared Goff will be tasked with leading the Los Angeles Rams in their first season back in California after being the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

With Super Bowl 50 almost three months in the past, the rabid American football fans were ready for the 2016 NFL Draft. The WhoDey Nation was no exception, ready to move on from the 2015 season. Having won the AFC North before being eliminated by division rivals Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the NFL PLayoffs, the Cincinnati Bengals would have the 24th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Cincinnati Bengals select William Jackson III
As noted by Stripe Hype , many thought that the Bengals would choose a wide receiver in the first round. They went instead with cornerback William Jackson III . Jackson is six-foot and 189-pounds out of Houston. While he had a minor knee issue in the 2015 season, he only missed one game. He was the fourth CB selected in the draft, after Jalen Ramsey (No. 5, Carolina Panthers), Eli Apple (No. 10, New York Giants) and Vernon Hargreaves (No. 11, Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
While the Bengals did lose two wide receivers to free agency (Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu), they also lost Leon Hall and Reggie Nelson on the defensive side of things. Cincinnati will look to Jackson to eventually help fill those voids in their passing defense.

Bengals Mock Draft: Round 2
Now that the Bengals have selected a cornerback instead of a receiver on the first day of the NFL Draft, one would think that they would focus on a future accomplice for A.J. Green in Round 2 at the 55th overall pick. The updated mock draft at Bleacher Report , however, has Cincinnati going on the defensive again with lineman Chris Jones out of Mississippi State. The Bengals experts at Cincy Jungle have Cincinnati picking Pharoh Cooper , a wide receiver out of South Carolina.

In their 2nd Round NFL Mock Draft , Sports Illustrated has Jones going much earlier to the San Diego Chargers at number 35 overall. Meanwhile, they don’t have Cooper on their list for day two at all, in either round. Instead, they have wide receiver Michael Thomas out of Ohio State going to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Bengals Mock Draft: Round 3
The further into the NFL Draft you go, the foggier the mock draft guesses are going to be. But that doesn’t stop fans from making predictions. Bleacher Report ‘s mock draft continues for the Bengals with Michael Thomas’ teammate, Braxton Miller, at number 87 overall. Miller was also a wide receiver for the Buckeyes last season.
Sports Illustrated , however, who picked Thomas for the Bengals in Round 2, have Cincinnati picking up defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway out of Texas. They have Braxton Miller going 13 picks earlier than Cincinnati, to the Tampa Bay Bucs at number 74.
