As if WWE hasn’t been dealing with enough injuries over the past year, there is now another one for them to have to work through. After the tag team tournament was revealed on Monday Night Raw last night, the Lucha Dragons were paired off with the Dudley Boyz in the first round. During the match, United States champion Kalisto was knocked out and fans said he had to be helped to the back. Will the U.S. title holder miss a lot of time?
Last night during their opening round match, Kalisto was knocked to the outside and pretty much stayed motionless throughout the duration of the bout. As recapped by the WWE website, the Dudley Boyz ended up picking up the victory and knocking the Lucha Dragons out of the tournament.
Fans began tweeting pictures of him since the camera didn’t stay on Kalisto, but continue focusing on the match.

Others were tweeting out that trainers continued to tend to him throughout the tag match and it looked like he may have some kind of collarbone injury. As time went on, the match continued and was eventually won by the Dudley Boyz who hit a 3-D on Sin Cara.
After the match was over, WWE went on to different things, but fans kept tweeting about the Kalisto situation.

Some have begun wondering just how serious his injury is and how much time he would be missing. Oddly though, WWE had not given any kind of update or let the fans know the status of Kalisto after he was helped to the back last night on Raw .
Well, it appears as if things aren’t as bad as originally thought.
PW Insider has provided an update on Kalisto and it appears as if the United States champion was actually not injured at all. He was bumped to the floor early on to take him out of the match as part of an angle so he couldn’t face off with the Dudley Boyz.
Now, it’s not known exactly why he was taken out of the match and left Sin Cara to fend for himself alone. Sure, Sin Cara can hold his own, but against a team like the Dudley Boyz, he was no match. He ended up eating a 3-D and taking the loss for the Lucha Dragons.
Kalisto is scheduled to take part in the upcoming European tour for WWE, but the exact schedule and his opponent isn’t yet known. It’s also not known if he will be defending the United States Title or tagging again with Sin Cara on the tour.
Maybe WWE is working toward a full-on split of the Lucha Dragons as it seemed that way right before WrestleMania 32 . Sin Cara and Kalisto were both featured in singles match at the big event and the former had even recently had some cryptic messages for everyone.
In the past, singles runs have not really worked for Sin Cara, but they have for Kalisto. It’s hard to think WWE would split up one of the most popular tag teams, but stranger things have happened.
Even though Kalisto’s injury appeared to be legit on Monday Night Raw yesterday evening, it appears now as if it was a total work. WWE really couldn’t afford to have yet another big star injured and on the shelf, so it’s good for them and him that he’s alright. Now, the United States champion will be a part of the upcoming European tour and work as normal.
