When it comes to WrestleMania , there needs to be a statement made, and it needs to be a memorable event that fans will keep in their minds forever. This year, WWE has been forced to deal with a lot of injuries heading into WrestleMania 32 , and a number of audibles have had to be called. Jim Ross feels that in order for this year’s event to come off as truly unforgettable, it’s time to pull a double-turn and for it to happen in the main event.
Last night, MLW Radio held their second ever “Walemania” event with numerous big stars from different promotions and wrestling lore. Longtime WWE announcer and Hall of Famer Jim Ross took to the stage during the event, and he had plenty to say as usual.
Ross talked about a number of things, and one of them was the main event of WrestleMania 32 which pits Triple H vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. While on the stage, Ross took a firm stance on what he feels should happen in the main event.
“If [WWE doesn’t] turn Roman Reigns heel at ‘Mania it’s piss poor booking. When fans boo and hate someone you turn them f***ing heel.”
Needless to say, but that drew an incredible pop from the crowd as it is something that fans have been calling for, for months. It’s no hidden fact that Reigns is booed by the majority of every crowd he appears in front of, and it’s going to happen at WrestleMania 32 as well.
Ross isn’t the only WWE icon that believes Roman Reigns should turn heel. About a month ago, “Stone Cold” Steve Austincalled for it and thought it will be the key to WWE actually getting Reigns over with the fans once he makes a babyface turn again in the future.
The thing is, how does the Reigns’ heel turn happen at WrestleMania 32 ?
Once again, Jim Ross has an idea on that whole scenario as reported by 411 Mania . Ross likes the combination of Triple H, Reigns, and Stephanie McMahon when they’re on WWE television together. They make for a good dynamic, but something drastic needs to happen, so the fans buy into that as well.
“Loved the spirit that HHH, Stephanie and Reigns had in their scenes together but getting the audience to cheer Roman Reigns isn’t simply going to happen any time soon so why continue to go against the grain? With that ‘over statement of the obvious’ being said, it appears to me that WWE/McMahon is sitting ripe and ready to add a ‘swerve’ to the equation Sunday. The setting is perfect for a double turn, etc including Mr McMahon involvement.”
Not only would this double-turn make fans happy, but it makes sense storyline wise as well. Of course, that’s all depending on what happens in the Hell in a Cell match between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker too.
If Shane-O Mactakes control of Monday Night Raw, it could lead to Vince McMahon being very upset with things and needing to have some form of WWE control. That could mean him wanting to have the WWE champion under his control. He couldn’t do it with Triple H as champ, but he could with Roman Reigns.
As the ending of the match draws closer and closer, Vince McMahon makes his way out, gets involved, and makes sure that Reigns wins the title. He screws over The Authority and instantly turns Reigns full-on heel by aligning themselves together.
This, in turn, will make Triple H a babyface, and, therefore, the double-turn takes place effectively and efficiently. What Culture and just about every prediction out there believes that Reigns is winning the WWE Title on Sunday.
If something is going to be so predictable, might as well change it up a bit.
WrestleMania 32 is coming up on Sunday, and a lot of fans aren’t really looking forward to the main event between Triple H and Roman Reigns. Jim Ross believes that a double turn (Trips to babyface and Reigns to heel) is what’s needed, and WWE needs to make it happen for fans to stay happy.
