Anonymous has declared war on former reality TV star and current GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump. Again. This time, Engadget reports, the hacktivist collective posted a video declaring “total war” on Donald Trump. The ultimate goal? To bring down an array of Donald Trump websites. Oh, and to put an end to the GOP front-runner’s presidential bid, too.
Check it out.

In the video, which was published on March 4, Anonymous asks for the public’s help in bringing down The Donald. During the approximately three-and-a-half-minute diatribe, an Anonymous rep in a Guy Fawkes mask tells viewers that “We need you to shut down his campaign and sabotage his brand.”
Why has Anonymous declared all out war on Donald Trump? According to the collective group of hackers, Trump has been targeted due to his “inconsistent and hateful campaign,” which Anonymous says has not only shocked citizens of the U.S. but also “shocked the entire planet” with “appalling actions and ideas.”
Anonymous is using the #OpTrump hashtag to get the word out and to ask for as much help as possible from the public in bringing down TrumpChicago.com on the first of April. In addition to directly targeting TrumpChicago.com, Anonymous is also going after more of Donald Trump’s business and personal websites, including donaldjtrump.com, trump.com, trumphotelcollection.com and even sites related to Donald Trump’s campaign fundraising, such as donaldtrump2016online.com and citizensfortrump.com.
In addition to targeting Donald Trump’s websites, Anonymous has already posted some serious personal information that it claims to be associated with Donald Trump and members of his staff. Included among that information is Donald Trump’s purported social security number
This is the second time Anonymous has gone after Donald Trump. The first time Anonymous set its collective sights on the GOP candidate was in December 2015, when the group posted a message to Trump in response to his negative commentary about Muslims.
While Donald Trump has repeatedly found himself facing the wrath of Anonymous, the hacktivist collective is also making threats against another Republican presidential candidate. Radar Onlinereports that Anonymous is also targetingTed Cruz.
In a Twitter video post, someone claiming to represent Anonymous threatens to release “very dirty secrets” about Ted Cruz if he doesn’t drop out of the presidential race within 24 hours.
The video begins by addressing Ted Cruz’ lying during the presidential campaign, saying that it has “gotten out of control.” The Anonymous rep continues by alleging that Ted Cruz stole votes from Ben Carson, who has since dropped out of the race.
“Anonymous will not let this go without repercussions or consequences. We will not sit and watch the citizens of America fall for it any longer.”
The video goes on to state that “almost every word” that comes out of Ted Cruz’ mouth is “a complete lie,” with the Anonymous rep claiming that Cruz is hiding “some very dirty secrets beneath the surface.”
Then, the anonymous Anonymous representative insinuates that Ted Cruz has a history of visiting prostitutes, saying that it’s time for Anonymous to “tell America what’s been hiding behind the curtain.”
At the end of the video post, the speaker threatens Ted Cruz with a very specific warning. Drop out of the race within 24 hours, or Anonymous will open the vault on his “disgusting behavior,” promising that what they have in store “will go viral on every social media platform.”
It has now been more than 24 hours since the Anonymous Twitter post, and while Marco Rubio dropped out of the GOP race on Super Tuesday Three, Ted Cruz is still in the running. It remains to be seen if anyone will make good on the Twitter threat to expose a dark, secret life associated with Ted Cruz.
What’s more, Anonymous hasn’t officially claimed association with the Twitter threat against Ted Cruz.
The group has very unambiguously claimed ownership of the threats made against Trump. When April 1 rolls around, we’ll all know for sure whether or not Anonymous has the ability to follow through on its threats against Donald Trump and his presidential campaign.
