The finale of ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 with Ben Higgins airs Monday night, and it is believed that the announcement regarding the Bachelorette lead will be made during the “After the Final Rose” special. Reality Steve’s spoilers had previously indicated that it was down to Caila Quinn and JoJo Fletcher for the gig, meaning that Ben chose Lauren Bushnell . Interestingly, it now seems there have been some shake-ups in determining this spring season. What’s the scoop?
Earlier this month, Reality Steve’s Bachelorette spoilers had revealed that Caila Quinn had gotten the gig for this spring over JoJo Fletcher, and several other sites were quick to report the same thing. Caila was seen doing some filming for the new season, as is standard, and given the fact that she finished in third place in Ben Higgins’ Bachelor season, choosing her did not come as a huge surprise.

However, “Bachelor Nation” fans are been fairly vocal in voicing their disappointment over the news that Caila got the gig. Though there were many ladies that viewers have been rooting for, JoJo was probably more favored by fans than Caila. Show creator Mike Fleiss tweeted a few days ago that the official Bachelorette announcement would be coming soon, and fans flooded his account with responses that they wanted Fletcher over Quinn. Did this kind of backlash prompt a change?
As Reality Steve’s spoilers detail, the runner-up has rarely been given the Bachelorette gig, and due to the filming schedule, it has been hard to see how it would work. Many fans felt, however, that it would be possible if the show decided to go for it. Though there will always be critics when the show picks a new lead, in this case, the voices of the fans seemed pretty solid in saying they were not terribly pleased with the show’s apparent initial pick.
Friday morning, Reality Steve teased via Twitter that there were some rumors floating around, but it took him a few days to try to pin down solid information. Now, he shares that the tweet was indeed about the Bachelorette lead as many were hoping. He says that he has solid information that the show made a change , but he has not been able to verify it via other sources.
If Reality Steve’s Bachelorette spoilers are accurate, the producers made a last-minute change and switched their lead. Despite the runner-up not being given the gig in the past seven or so seasons, new information that the gossip guru received indicates that producers have found a way to do it this season.
Steve’s spoilers say that it seems that Caila was chosen, but just a few days ago she got the call that despite doing some introductory filming, she was no longer going to be the Bachelorette 2016 lead. Instead, the producers are going with Fletcher, after all.

While the powers-that-be have definitely led some to believe they may get chosen in the past and then picked someone else, as was the case with both Nick Viall and Arie Luyendyk Jr. in past Bachelor seasons, it sounds as if this situation went further than both of those. Per multiple reports, Caila had been definitively told she had the gig.
As many would understand, Steve’s Bachelorette spoilers indicate that Caila is quite upset and angry over such a last-minute change. While some suspect that the decision to have Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson as Bachelorette leads to start last season was a fairly last-minute decision, this one came with even less warning from the sounds of things.
Just how will the show pave the way for Fletcher to get the Bachelorette nod? Most would expect that Ben and JoJo will talk during Monday’s “After the Final Rose” special, and she will go on to talk about how she now knows one can find love on reality television in a short period of time. She will likely say that since filming ended, she was able to gain a great deal of clarity and now she is firm in knowing she is ready to find her future husband. Will viewers eat it up? Probably.
Will Reality Steve’s spoilers regarding JoJo Fletcher getting the Bachelorette gig over Caila Quinn pan out to be correct, or is the original spoiler still accurate? One way or another, fans should find out Monday night as the finale of ABC’s The Bachelor 2016 season with Ben Higgins airs and the “After the Final Rose” special with Ben, Lauren Bushnell, and the big announcement plays out.
