WWE Rumors: Hall Of Famer Returning On ‘Monday Night Raw’ To Set Up ‘WrestleMania 32’ Angle

With WrestleMania 32 less than a month away, there isn’t much yet set in stone as far as matches or even appearances, but things are starting to get rolling. Four matches are confirmed even despite the fact that Roadblock could change them up a bit, and some wrestling legends may be appearing. It seems as if a WWE Hall of Famer by the name of Mick Foley will be returning soon on Monday Night Raw and setting up an angle of some kind for the big Pay-Per-View.

According to F4W Online , Foley is going to be returning to WWE very soon, and it may be for more than originally expected. Yes, he is working with WWE to promote his WrestleMania 32 Dream Trip giveaway contest with the RAINN organization, but there could be more.

First off, Lords of Pain states that Mick Foley will not be back on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw . He could very well come back next week for the show in Pittsburgh, and then appear the next week on Raw in Philadelphia and the go-home Raw on March 28, in Brooklyn.

It’s been known for a while now that Mick Foley is going to be at WrestleMania 32 , but everyone thought it would be just to promote the contest. He won’t be the only legend there though, as Ric Flair, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock are all said to make appearances.

Each will have something unique to do or say, and it’s extremely doubtful that Mick Foley will have any kind of active or wrestling role at all. He’s retired and has been out of the ring for many years, but he could actually get involved in a storyline of some sort, but which one?

Well, Foley does have some history with Dean Ambrose and it goes back numerous years to when Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and a Twitter war. It was meant to happen in 2012 and years ago, Ambrose even spoke about it on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast.

“It was going to be a real thing. That was the start of it. It was my idea, something that I pitched. I’m of the generation who watched Mick Foley fall off stuff, and on the indies people are falling off ladders and getting hurt,” Ambrose said. “I did a lot of hardcore stuff before I got here [the WWE].”

WWE even went as far as to set up Twitter accounts for all the FCW talent since none had official ones at the time. This would help the angle seem more real, and the two started going back and forth on Twitter, but the angle was eventually scrapped due to Foley not being able to get medical clearance to wrestle.

That being said, it may not be too much of a coincidence that Mick Foley is getting involved in a storyline for WrestleMania 32 and Dean Ambrose has a No Holds Barred Street Fight against Brock Lesnar at the event.

Wouldn’t you know it? Dean Ambrose in a hardcore match and going up against one of the strongest forces in WWE, Brock Lesnar. Not only that, but Lesnar has Paul Heyman in his corner and Ambrose is all by himself.

Perhaps Ambrose could benefit from being mentored by a hardcore legend such as Mick Foley and also have the Hall of Famer in his corner at WrestleMania 32 . This is all speculation at this point, but it certainly makes sense.

Mick Foley has stayed involved with WWE for years now and made random appearances here and there for the company. Now, the Hall of Famer is returning on Monday Night Raw in the near future, and it will begin an angle that involves him in a WrestleMania 32 storyline, but will the former nemesis of Dean Ambrose really become his teacher?
