After Kanye West’s most recent Twitter feud with Deadmau5, it seems as if the rapper’s list of Twitter nemeses has just gotten a bit longer.
In Kanye’s Twitter rant of the day, he asked EDM producer Deadmau5 if he would be willing to perform at North West’s birthday party. The question was meant as an insult, as Deadmau5 typically performs wearing a mouse head, and as Kanye noted via Twitter, North West loves Minnie Mouse.
Given Kanye’s recent vow never to bring children into an adult argument again, it seems odd that West would bring his own daughter into a Twitter feud, opening the door for anything that could come as a response from Deadmau5 , who Hollywood Life called “just as hotheaded as Kanye.”

The whole thing started like this: On Tuesday, Kanye West tweeted a photo of his computer screen, which showed him listening to Sufjan Stevens’ “Death With Dignity” on YouTube. In addition to the YouTube tab, Kanye also had two other tabs open on his browser: One for a synthesizer tool called Serum and a second tab for Pirate Bay, where ‘Ye would have been able to download the tool illegally. The synthesizer tool in question costs about $189.
Yeezy’s photo caused social media to explode, of course, as West has been an outspoken opponent of pirating in the past. Electronic dance music producer Deadmau5 was among those who slammed Kim Kardashian’s husband for the photo, which makes sense, given that Deadmau5 is the co-founder of the company that makes the Serum tool.
Deadmau5 soon called Kanye out, even offering to set up a Kickstarter campaign so that ‘Ye could buy his own copy of the tool.
Let’s start a Kickstarter to help @kanyewest afford a copy of Serum.

The so-called “news” that Kanye West can’t afford a $200 tool comes on the heels of West’s own admissions of a $53-million personal debt.
In a strange twist, someone actually did start a crowdfunding campaign to help West buy his own Serum too.
Yo @kanyewest Now you can buy @deadmau5 ‘s and @steve_duda ‘s Serum! Your welcome!!! it’s not nice to steal!! pic.twitter.com/yY2bYHsM5j

Yeezy, being Yeezy, quickly responded in his own style, with the rant in which he asked Deadmau5 to perform at North’s birthday party.
Do you do birthday parties?? My daughter loves Minnie mouse…
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 2, 2016
can you please bring the minnie mouse head … not yours she specifically likes minnie mouse …
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 2, 2016
I need you to perform at her party with specifically a minnie mouse dead-mow-five head… not a mickey mouse dead-mow-five head.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 2, 2016
I’m very detailed oriented and I will know the difference so don’t try to just throw a bow on the original head…
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 2, 2016
I want to stream you performing in a Minnie Mouse head on @Tidal
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 2, 2016
# I’m bored ### when you get married will your wife have a giant minnie mouse head? # This brightened up my day… thank you dead-mow-five
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) March 2, 2016
West also went on to ask Deadmau5 about travel arrangements for the mouse head, and West also wanted to know whether Deadmau5 gets hot when he wears it. No word yet from Deadmau5 in response to Kanye West’s questions, which Kanye called “very serious” and “super serious” questions.
What do you think of the entire Kanye West-Deamau5 feud? Do you think either music artist was out of line? Why or why not?
