As reported yesterday, The Jim Henson Company , which created such characters and shows as The Muppets and Fraggle Rock, has renounced Chick-Fil-A and severed ties with the anti-gay company. In a statement, The Jim Henson Company announced:
“The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD.”
The Other 98%, a group on Facebook who believe that the economy and American democracy are being hijacked by an elite 2% that is selling out the American dream, took the statement from The Jim Henson Company and produced a meme that is now circulating on Facebook.
