Since 2014, CUBE Entertainment has been pushing BtoB to the forefront of their company, mostly because their primary K-pop idol boy group BEAST has been concentrating more on solo endeavors. Still, such a circumstance can only be favorable for BtoB. In 2014, they’ve released three mini-albums ( Beep Beep , Move , and The Winter’s Tale ), had their first solo concert, and made their debut in Japan. In 2015, they had one mini-album ( I Mean ), their first full-studio album ( Complete ), and their second solo concert. Let’s not forget their numerous variety show appearances and castings in K-dramas. Summarized, BtoB has been very busy.
Now it is 2016, and it looks as if BtoB is starting off the Lunar New Year with some laughs. Recently, BtoB were guests on variety show The Boss Is Watching , and during one part of the show, they performed Red Velvet’s “Dumb Dumb.” However, BtoB went the extra mile as they went all out in true Red Velvet fashion and style. That’s right! BtoB made sure to look like Red Velvet too.
BtoB were, as mentioned earlier, guests on The Boss Is Watching . However, this episode was special because it was the Lunar New Year Special, as reported by Korean news outlet Nate . Because it was a special event, there were more than a few other K-pop idol groups in attendance including TWICE, EXID, SONAMOO, BTS, GFriend. and others. Just like previous episodes from this variety show, they were in competition for prizes. BtoB must have really wanted to win whatever the show was giving out because cross-dressing and performing a bubblegum pop song from a popular K-pop idol girl group will easily win over everyone at such a show.

Nevertheless, Minhyuk, Eunkwang, Changsub, and Hyunsik totally brought the house down with their performance. They even stayed in character after they were done too, saying they were “ Red Carpet ” and they were there to take on their “rivals” Red Velvet, as reported by Soompi . However, the two BtoB members to truly stand out from the rest. The first was Eunkwang who was front and center for most of the performance. The second was Changsub who remained in character, twirling his ponytail, throughout the rest of the show.
There is no news if BtoB won anything during the competition for their performance of “Dumb Dumb” by Red Velvet. Yet, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it is evident that each member of Red Velvet – Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri – were more than flattered.
As for BtoB’s current endeavors, they are currently working on their fourth Japanese single titled “Dear Bride.” They will return to Japan for its release sometime this month.
