The ESPN Body Issue is out. Twenty seven of the top athletes around the world have stripped down for the annual issue which celebrates the human form.
“It’s okay to stare. That’s what The Body Issue is here for. Each year, we stop to admire the vast potential of the human form. To unapologetically stand in awe of the athletes who’ve pushed their physiques to profound frontiers. To imagine how it would feel to inhabit those bodies, to leap and punch and throw like a god. To… well, gawk. So go ahead; join us.”
This year’s ESPN Body Issue features Olympians like Anna Tunnicliffe, basketball players like Tyson Chandler, and the entire USA Volleyball Team. ( You can see the full list of athletes here. )
The new issue officially hits stands on July 13th but ESPN has released several images and videos of the athletes in the Body Issue. ( You can see all of the photos from ESPN here . You can check out more videos here .)
Tyson Chandler, who appears on one of the covers of the Body Issue, writes:
“I wanted people to look at my body and see why I’m able to do the things I do on the court. Also, it’s a very artistic shoot, and seeing that in past issues made me want to do it.”
