Rumors always fly around in the world of professional wrestling, but there are a lot happening right now. Actually, there are so many things going on right now that this could honestly turn into one of the biggest weeks in the history of WWE. With the Royal Rumble happening on Sunday, there are rumors that AJ Styles is about to debut and Daniel Bryan is about to return, but what is really happening?
If all goes according to the rumored plan, this is honestly going to be a huge week for WWE. One thing that is 100 percent certain is that the Royal Rumble is happening on Sunday. Vince McMahon recently changed the rumble match so that the winner doesn’t just get the main event shot at WrestleMania 32 , but they will also win the WWE World Heavyweight Title.
According to WWE.com , there are five other matches on the card other than the rumble match itself, and it’s going to be a fun night.
- Royal Rumble match for WWE World Heavyweight Title
- Last Man Standing Match for Intercontinental Title: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Kevin Owens
- Divas Title: Charlotte (c) vs. Becky Lynch
- United States Title: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Kalisto
- WWE Tag Team Titles: The New Day vs. The Usos (c)
- Kickoff match for rumble entry: The Dudley Boyz vs. Darren Young & Damien Sandow vs. The Ascension vs. Mark Henry & Jack Swagger
All of the above is what is set in stone and will happen this weekend. There could be a number of new champions by the time Sunday night is over, but what else could be on the way?
Rumors started going around that WWE had decided against AJ Styles debuting in the Royal Rumble and now would have him debut on Monday Night Raw the evening after. Well, that apparently was false information, as rumors can be a lot of times, and it seems that Sunday may be in the cards for Styles to debut in WWE.
According to PW Insider , Styles will indeed go through medical testing, sign his deal, and begin work with WWE this week. The former NWA, TNA, and NJPW champion is reportedly “confirmed” to be at the Royal Rumble on Sunday and then at Monday Night Raw and then the SmackDown tapings on Tuesday.
It isn’t exactly known what night he will make his WWE debut, but it seems as if the company is going to keep every door open for when they want to introduce him.
Last week, there was a rumor that WWE was going to release Daniel Bryan from his contract on Monday, Jan. 18. That report was refuted by WWE publicly, and that date has come and gone with Bryan still being employed by the company.
On Wednesday, there was a report going around that Bryan was flying to Pennsylvania this week to meet with WWE doctors for medical testing. Well, the Wrestling Observer now states that Bryan does not have any appointments with doctors in Pittsburgh this week and is only there for an appearance.
Further reports have come out to back that up and say that Bryan does not have an appointment with WWE doctor Joseph Maroon.
Report D Bryan is coming to Pitt for medical. Don’t know for sure about medical but he is replacing Seth Rollins Friday at World of Wheels.

Since the refuted report, it’s now said that it was never confirmed Bryan would be there for medical testing. It was just reported that Bryan could possibly go for tests since he will be in Pittsburgh where Maroon is based, since he’ll be there for the appearance.
With Daniel Bryan, it’s now at the point that no one has any idea what is going on with his health and when he could return. WWE may want to make his return such a big surprise that they could be feeding or “leaking” false info out and shock the world at the Royal Rumble or whenever.
WWE has a very busy weekend ahead of them with the Royal Rumble and the official start of the road to WrestleMania 32 . The debut of AJ Styles could happen any day now and that’s just absolutely huge. Daniel Bryan’s return to the ring could come when everyone expects it the least. This really could be the biggest week in WWE history, but that’s if all the rumors come true.
