Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky is no secret, especially after Linda Tripp leaked tapes of conversations about it; but a recent interview about the scandal alleges that Hillary Clinton was well aware of the affair, or rather the thousands of that took place in the White House.
In a recent interview with Aaron Kelin Investigative Radio transcribed by Breitbart , Linda let loose on the environment in Bill’s administration while she worked as a civil servant in the White House and subsequently for the Pentagon. Tripp told the program that Clinton’s proclivity for having affairs with women who passed through the office was an open secret. She said that during her time working in the government agencies, she believed that thousands of women had either been sexually harassed or engaged in an affair with Bill.
“Everyone knew within the West Wing, particularly those who spent years with [Clinton], of the thousands of women… Now most of your listeners might find that difficult if not impossible to believe. And I can tell you in the beginning I felt the same way. But let me be clear here… This is a pattern of behavior that has gone on for years. And the abuse of women for years… let’s put it this way, within the West Wing that he had this problem. It was further common knowledge that Hillary was aware of it.”
Linda also described the terror she felt when Monica first revealed her affair with Bill to her when they began working together at the Pentagon. Lewinsky, soured that Clinton had not gotten her moved back over the White House, confessed the incident to Tripp. Sensing a possibility confrontation over Bill and Monica’s affair in the future, she surreptitiously recorded phone conversations she had with the young intern about their intimate relationship.
Tripp was petrified when Lewinsky began to threaten to expose Clinton’s affair with her. Linda says that she believed Monica was unaware of the implications of threatening Bill, one of the most powerful men in the world, and feared for both of their safety.
“I say today and I will continue to say that I believe Lewinsky is alive today because of choices I made and action I took. That may sound melodramatic to your listeners. I can only say that from my perspective I believe that she and I at the time were in danger, because nothing stands in the way of these people achieving their political ends… It’s a situation where unless you lived it as I did you would have no real framework of reference for this sort of situation.”
Tripp also spoke extensively about the role of Hillary in the many affairs that took place in the Clinton administration. Linda said that she felt the First Lady did not possess “integrity at any level.” Tripp accused Hillary of lying openly to public and making herself out to be a “wife who was betrayed” when she participated openly in the cover-up of Bill’s affairs. Furthermore, she said that the Democratic presidential frontrunner “made it her personal mission to disseminate information and destroy the women with whom he dallied.”
“[I cringe when she’s presented as] a champion of women’s rights worldwide in a global fashion, and yet all of the women she has destroyed over the years to ensure her political viability continues is sickening to me.”
Linda Tripp said that Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky and Hillary’s attitude about it were just the tip of the iceberg. She said her years working there were “disturbing on so many levels” and that it was important for her to reveal that. If everyone knew what she she did, Linda said, “there is not a chance she would be elected president.”
