Miley Cyrus is sharing some of her Christmas traditions. The 23-year-old singer reveals that she’s just like the rest of us. She also can’t wait to feast on her favorite food this upcoming holiday.
According to various reports, the “Wrecking Ball” singer will be heading back home for the holiday shortly after her “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” tour wraps up. Cyrus revealed what she’s most looking forward to once she’s home. And it’s not unwrapping gifts or spending time with her friends and family. In fact, Cyrus is looking forward to eating everything and anything.
“I’m going to go home and just chill with my family. We just use it as an excuse to eat. When you’re a kid the presents are so exciting, but as you get older it feels kind of odd that they’re giving me presents, so then it’s just an eating excuse.”
Miley has been in the Christmas spirit for some time now. The “BB Talk” singer has also been seen singing an original Christmas song on Wayne Coyne’s Instagram page. The clip features Miley beautifully singing the lyrics, “This is my sad Christmas song. I’ve had it in my head all day long” as a guy plays guitar. It looks like there’s a mini recording session going on, making fans wonder if she will release the song in time for the festive holiday.
The Flaming Lips frontman captioned the video, “This is my sad Christmas song…@stevendrozd @mileycyrus #theflaminglips #mileycyrusandherdeadpetz #sadchristmassongs.”
Fans were quick to comment on Cyrus’ vocals in the video and begged the aging rocker to release the tune, but only time will tell if it’ll be released soon.

Miley Cyrus has already lent her vocals to the Very Murray Christmas special, now on Netflix. The singer left her wacky persona at home and just gave her raw talent. The Sofia Coppola-directed variety show includes performances from Chris Rock, George Clooney , and Michael Cera. Cyrus revealed the no-brainer reason why she wanted in on the old-school entertainment show . It seems so unlike the singer who’s known for posing topless and posing with bizarre objects on Instagram.
“Someone rang me up and said Bill Murray wants you to show up and sing some Christmas song with George Clooney. And I was like, ‘OK, yeah, I’ll be there.’ And it was just so cool to kind of like bring my own style, it’s so fantasy and fun. Honestly, I just wanted to be with Bill Murray.”
In a clip from the Christmas special, the blonde pixie-haired singer sits on top of Paul Schaffer’s white piano, wearing a sexy Santa Clause costume as she sings “Silent Night.” The performance is enchanting, flawless, and understated – something that you wouldn’t expect from the Happy Hippie founder.

Miley even received rave reviews for her performances in A Very Murray Christmas . Deadline reviewer Dominic Patten wrote that even though Miley appears for a few songs, she “delivers a knock-’em-dead pipes-to-kill-for performance here” that “could put any Scrooge in the Christmas spirit.”
Lauren Larson wrote the GQ article titled “The Real Star of Bill Murray’s Christmas Special: Miley Cyrus.”
“Cyrus’ performance is mature and lovely and – for anyone who has had a weird year or two – very contemplative.”
In fact, it was assumed that she could have single-handedly saved Bill Murray’s Netflix special. Miley’s contribution to the special has Bill singing her praises ever since its debut.
“It was stunning to work with her. All you hear, is [negative tabloid stories] and then you work with her and realize, ‘OH!’ She’s really a trouper. She came through in a huge way for us… If she asked me to push start her car, I would do it.”
Miley Cyrus can put down the joint and pasties when she has to and put on a perfect performance. If you want something different to watch this week, A Very Murray Christmas is one of the 50 best Christmas movies on Netflix , according to Netflix Life . What are your thoughts?
