There has been a lot going on in Season 2 of The Flash , as it remains one of the hottest shows on all of television. The CW got a real winners with Arrow and The Flash , and they are likely to continue the streak with Legends of Tomorrow . There is officially going to be a huge crossover coming soon that will incorporate all three shows, plus unofficial rumors of Tom Welling’s Superman from Smallville joining the fun.
For now, there is a Thanksgiving break for both Arrow and The Flash . Legends of Tomorrow won’t officially begin until next year, but there’s lots of talk going on about the show. Upon the return of the first two shows, there is going to be a huge crossover, two-part episode that will see a lot of big names team up.
Ecumenical News reported that show executive Marc Guggenheim said it will be the first “proper” crossover for the two shows. Events happening in The Flash are going to spill over into the events in the episode of Arrow airing the next evening.
The trailer released by The CW details the crossover episodes and the extent of the action as the heroes join forces.
Things officially begin in Season 2, Episode 8 of The Flash when Vandal Savage needs to be defeated after showing his ugly head. As Realty Today reports, the story will then continue into Season 4, Episode 8 of Arrow as the two title heroes team up to face the villain.
Don’t be surprised when you see Oliver Queen in Central City and Barry Allen over in Star City, but it does get even better.
Malcolm Merlin (John Barrowman) is the new Ra’s al Ghul, so to speak, and he sets up a meeting between the two heroes and Vandal which is just asking for something bad to happen. Still, there’s more.
In the Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 crossover episodes, there will be some serious introductions to characters from Legends of Tomorrow . Guggenheim tweeted the above image last week and talked about the crossover episode coming soon. As you can see, there are so many more than just Arrow and Flash who are teaming up.
Guggenheim recently spoke to Deadline and revealed that the two-part crossover will officially launch the new series coming next year.
“There’s a lot of things that are really cool about this year’s crossover, one of which is the fact that there really is a true 2-part story unlike last year where it was two interconnected episodes where each had their own beginning, middle, and end. This is a big two-part event, one single bad guy, and it will very clearly launch ‘Legends of Tomorrow.’”
He did make sure to state that this is not going to be the “backdoor pilot” for the new show as it will be something all on its own. The Arrow and The Flash crossover will simply introduce even more new characters than those that have been hinted throughout this season.
Prepare to meet or be further introduced to the following characters.
- Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl — Ciara Renee
- Cisco Ramon/ (who is showing more and more of) Vibe — Carlos Valdes
- Carter Hall/Hawkman — Falk Hentschel
- Black Canary — Katie Cassidy

The crossover will not only thrill fans who love seeing Arrow and Flash together, but the introductions of the Legends are sure to please.
The big question on the minds of so many fans is when and if Superman will actually show up. For months, there have been rumors of Tom Welling’s character from Smallville showing up, but nothing has been hinted at for quite some time.
Back in February, rumors of Cisco and Caitlin (Killer Frost) becoming metahumans came true to some extent. At the same time, the word of Welling showing up as Superman came about and then the reveal of infinite Earths this season strengthened them.
So far, there’s been nothing more on the “man of steel” coming over to Central City from Smallville . Still, there is more than half a season remaining in Season 2 of The Flash and anything is possible, especially with the Arrow crossover bringing the Legends of Tomorrow into play and more to come.
