Will Subway Jared Fogle Face New Temptations Behind Bars?

They don’t use the saying “there are no turkey subs where you are going” too often, but it must be on the mind of former Subway pitchman, Jared Fogle. Though prison is not known for it’s delicious food, it might provide the junk food temptations that caused Fogle’s weight to balloon while he was in college. Though Jared Fogle will be away from his other temptation, sex with underaged girls, he will have to just indulge in his food lust.

According to the Inquisitr , Fogle’s attorneys tried to mitigate his sentence by saying, essentially that the weight loss made him do it. The judge didn’t buy it, but Jared Fogle’s lawyers said that his drastic weight loss made him hyper-sexual and caused him to act out. Fogle was sentenced to 15 years for receiving child pornography and contacting minors online for sex. They even had an expert testify that there are some conditions that can trigger erratic sexual behavior and acting out.

TMZ believes that Jare Fogle’s svelte physique is in danger behind bars, as there will be no Subway sandwiches to help curb his cravings. It seems that the pokey is junk food paradise.

“Jared’s temporary home is Henderson County Detention Center in Kentucky, and we’ve learned he, and all the inmates there, can order some serious care packages filled with things like…”

  • Triple bacon burger deluxe
  • Pizza and wing party pack
  • Meat lovers or BBQ chicken pizza
  • Tons of candy, chips, snacks, and sodas

Wow, who knew? It seems Jared Fogle’s compulsive behavior will need to go old school, which means back to the binge eating of his college days.

It seems like prison will be a dangerous place for Fogle for more than one reason.

Though the pizza and wings sounds pretty good, especially for someone who has kept his diet fairly clean over the years, the New York Daily News says that most prison food is pretty bland and not too tempting. The Daily News says that Fogle will not be eating fresh any time soon. The National Prison Menu Guide sounds somewhat like hospital food. A hospital in a really bad neighborhood.

“That might mean bad news for Fogle’s weight, since he famously claimed Subway’s turkey and veggie subs helped him lose 245 pounds. Prisons are mandated to offer inmates about 2,200 calories a day, way above what a couple Subway sandwiches pack in.”

Maybe the extra calories will help Fogle deal with his other desires behind bars.

“The one bit of culinary good news for Fogle is that federal prisons have three subs to choose from: Meatball, steak and cheese and a cold cut hoagie, according to the most recent BOP menu.”

None of these choices will likely be low calorie, but it’s a start, and sub day can be something that Fogle can look forward to.

The New York Post repeated that it seems that Jared Fogle r eally believes that his weight loss triggered something that caused him to seek out girls for sex.

“Once he lost weight, it seemed as though in a short time he had hyper-sexuality,” forensic psychiatrist John Bradford testified for the defense at Fogle’s sentencing Thursday morning in Indianapolis. “There are brain disorders that can be associated with sexual drive.”

Do you think the Jared Fogle will gain the weight back in prison without his adherence to a strict diet?
