Leah Messer Looks Forward To Weekends With Twins After Losing Custody To Corey Simms: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Season 7 Update

Leah Messer is looking forward to the weekend — and who can blame her? Weeks ago, the Teen Mom 2 star attended a custody hearing with her ex-husband, Corey Simms, who was granted primary custody of her twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, leaving Leah Messer with just weekends with her daughters.

On November 5, Leah Messer shared a meme on Facebook, which read , “You mean to tell me… It’s only Thursday?”

In early October, just days before Leah Messer’s custody hearing with Simms, a source revealed the following to Us Weekly in regard to allegations made by Simms and his wife, Miranda, during filming on Season 6 of Teen Mom 2 .

“[Leah Messer] is really hurt by this. She’s not perfect and she knows that but she’s doing so well, and she loves those kids more than anything. Leah’s considering putting Gracie and Ali into therapy… [Leah Messer] is doing great, actually. She has actually grown as a person. Leah is not on pills right now. She’s not on drugs. She’s doing so well.”

During Teen Mom 2 Season 6, Leah Messer’s ex-husband, Simms, accused her of hiding a drug problem, which she denied. Weeks later, however, Leah Messer traveled to Arizona for a 30-day treatment program, in which she was allegedly addressing issues of depression and anxiety. Simms, however, wasn’t buying her claims, and neither was Leah Messer’s second husband, Jeremy Calvert, who later cited a “prescription pill problem” while chatting with Simms at a local restaurant.

Despite Us Weekly’s source’s claims of Leah Messer doing “great” after treatment, a second report claimed that was far from the case, as the reality star and mother of three lost custody of the twins just days later.

“It was like a slap in the face,” Leah Messer told Us Weekly in a post-custody hearing interview .

According to the report, Leah Messer was accused of being unable to properly parent her children, one of which, Ali, has special needs. A source alleged Messer’s twins were often late or missing from class, and due to Leah Messer’s parenting mishaps, her ex-husband was awarded primary custody of the 5-year-olds, and would have them from Monday through Friday.

“[Leah Messer] just wasn’t getting them to school. They were missing and they were tardy.”

Although a judge gave Simms custody of the girls due to Leah Messer’s alleged failure to transport them to school in a timely manner, the reality star claimed the court made a major error, as she was late to school just one time.

“I talked to the superintendent, and I’m sending them the [time-stamped] pictures I took to prove the girls were not tardy. They’re going to take them off.”

Leah Messer continued on, claiming Ali and Aleeah should have both parents in their life equally and announcing plans to eventually file for 50/50 custody of the girls.

“I feel like they should have both of us in their lives… At the end of the day, my kids are going to be happy, and I don’t care what I have to do to make them happy.”

Leah Messer also claimed her twins were miserable living with Simms and that Aleeah had threatened to run away.

As Leah Messer prepares to fight back against the ruling, Simms and his wife are preparing to expand their family even further. Before he was granted with more time with the twins, Simms and wife Miranda announced they were expecting their first child together. The baby, a girl who will be named Remi, is due sometime in January.

Leah Messer and her co-stars are rumored to be in production on Teen Mom 2 Season 7, which will likely include details regarding her custody battle with Simms.
