Anonymous hacktivists are threatening to expose 1,000 Ku Klux Klan members to the entire world on the first anniversary of the Ferguson protest which erupted in late November of last year. They will also aim to shut down all websites and other social media accounts associated with the KKK.

It all began when Anonymous and the KKK had a dispute during the protest in Ferguson after the grand jury made a decision to not indict police officer Darren Wilson for the murder of unarmed black teenager Mike Brown. During the entire misunderstanding, a local KKK threatened to use “lethal force” against protectors.

Anonymous did not take this threat lightly, in response they hacked KKK’s main Twitter account and published personal information regarding the KKK, they also said they had information of some of the police officers of Ferguson being a part of the Klan.

According to The Guardian , Anonymous is a group of hackers and online activists. Members of the group refers to themselves as “anions.” They also operate as a grassroot-style organization with no visible leadership or membership structure. Its first high-profile project targeted the Church of Scientology. It has also targeted child ponorgraphy rings

According to sources, several of the KKK members left the Klan after having their identities exposed. Anonymous is stopping at nothing to expose more members.

“We are not attacking you because of what you believe in as we fight for freedom of speech,” Anonymous said in a statement released last week. “We are attacking you because of what you do to our brothers and sisters.”

According to International Business News , Anonymous has already published personal details such as credit card information, social security, phone numbers, email addresss, and even the home address of the grand wizard of the KKK.

It is believed that there is a mole within the St. Louis County Police Department who is feeding it information about officers who are also members of the KKK.

Things are taking interesting turns now. Frank Ancona, the leader of KKK, is outspoken in his reaction with the Anonymous threats. He has also taken a bold step to appear on camera with one of the Anonymous leaders.

According to Frank, violence was the last thing on his mind, and that the media had blown everything out of proportion making them look bad in the public eye. He further said they are just protecting the rights of their members. Especially those whose life is being threatened by the public.

In a press release announcing its plans to unmask up to 1,000 members of the white supremacy group, Anonymous addressed KKK members.

“After closely observing so many of you for so very long, we feel confident that applying transparency to your organizational cells is the right, just, appropriate and only course of action. You are abhorrent. Criminal. You are more than extremists. You are more than a hate group. You operate much more like terrorists and you should be recognized as such. You are terrorists that hide your identities beneath sheets and infiltrate society on every level. The privacy of the Ku Klux Klan no longer exists in cyberspace.”

In addition to the other press release is an interesting video that had a lot of likes and views on YouTube.

“To the government representing the people of the United States of America, the American public should not be subjected to victimization by hate groups through a hate groups protection by the United States constitution, without additional laws in place to protect potential victims of these violent organizations. More dialogue is needed to create working solutions.

“To the citizens of the world, we stand with you always against oppression and injustice. Anonymous is many things. The anons participating in OperationKKK believe that it is a civic responsibility to be conscious and self-critical of our society in order to improve upon the shape of things to come.

“To those that really disagree with us; sorry for the inconvenience, but not really. We are trying to change our world.

“To the freedom fighters representing Anonymous in Ferguson , Missouri, stay the course.
