Actress Olivia Wilde believes that many people who attack Hillary Clinton are purely sexist. While many candidates are criticized for their policies, Wilde believes some go after Hillary Clinton just because she’s a woman.
In an interview with the Daily Beast , Olivia Wilde had only positive things to say about the presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, claiming that her political record should matter more than how she looks or acts. And the biggest offenders, according to Olivia Wilde, are the Republicans.
“She’s an incredibly skilled debater and her intelligence and experience speaks for itself,” Olivia Wilde said. “That’s the thing about Hillary—when people stop scheming to take her down with b******t, her actual resume speaks for itself. Everything that’s happened so far in this election has just been ridiculous for the Republican Party, of course, and so illuminating in its transparency, and people are getting inspired by Bernie [Sanders] and inspired by Hillary, and that’s a great thing. People are engaged.”
In a world where political candidates are judged for nearly everything, down to the way they dress and talk, female candidates tend to have things even worse than male politicians. Republican candidate Carly Fiorina was recently attacked by opponent Donald Trump for having what he considers an ugly face that’s not fit for the White House. Hillary Clinton has endured similar surface-level hate.
Olivia Wilde addressed the common accusations that Hillary Clinton isn’t a very warm person, or that she seems “too hawkish,” which the actress believes is simply an example of gender discrimination.
“It’s pure sexism,” Olivia Wilde declared. “This b******t about her not seeming ‘warm’ enough is pure misogyny. It’s ridiculous. I think she’s one of the loveliest, most personable politicians I’ve ever met—much warmer than other politicians, in fact. That’s pure sexism.”
According to the Hill , Olivia Wilde supports Hillary Clinton due to her healthcare efforts and work with women’s rights. In fact, Olivia Wilde supports Clinton so much that she actually gave the candidate a four-minute introduction at one of her campaign events in June.
Olivia Wilde has also defended Hillary Clinton on her Twitter page. Among the charges against Hillary Clinton for being hawkish and cold are accusations related to the infamous email scandal. Olivia Wilde suggested the media attention surrounding the emails is a waste of time, only perpetuated as an attempt to harm Clinton’s reputation.
Hillary Clinton’s emails are about as scandalous as my grandmother’s recipe for tater-tots. What a waste of newsprint. Focus on real issues.

Olivia Wilde isn’t the only one coming to Hillary Clinton’s rescue over the email scandal. During last night’s Democratic debate, fellow front runner Bernie Sanders even dared to stand up and declare the obsession with Clinton’s emails were pointless.
As reported by Time , Hillary Clinton admitted to her mistake during the debate, saying “I’ve taken responsibility for it. I did say it was a mistake. I have been as transparent as I know to be, turning over 55,000 pages of my e-mails, asking that they be made public.”
In response, Bernie Sanders joined Olivia Wilde in saying America should forget about the whole thing.
“I think the Secretary is right. And that is I think the American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails.”
What do you think? Do you agree with Olivia Wilde that people who attack Hillary Clinton for her personality instead of her policies are actually being chauvinistic?
